I'm having a sort of minor Disney identity crisis or something, so please bear with me! (It's not like we have RoL things to book or anything!

)
A few months ago, a guest speaker at the high school where I teach asked each of us to think about where we spent our money ... I immediately thought "Disney to vacation with the family"! After a pause, he followed up with "because your heart is where your money is". I just smiled and nodded in agreement.
Funny how things can shift in a short time. If asked that question today, my answer would be "on family trips".
I was (and am) looking forward to going home to WDW this August (it's been over two years since our last visit), but I gotta say that the current state of affairs (upcharges, nickle and diming, etc.) has put a bit of a damper on things. Well, my wallet more than anything. I still love Disney (and my DVC), but there are a lot of other attractive options out there. And, over the next few years, some of them will be getting money that I typically would have given Disney.
This trip, instead of adding the Family Magic Tour and LaNouba to our plans, we're considering Blueman Group on one of our Universal days. (Our last few Orlando trips have benn 100% Disney.) Also considering a HAL Canada-Bermuda cruise in 2017 and NCL Hawaii in 2019 ...
DCL doesn't offer anything similar during times I can travel. And while Hawaii would include a few nights on points at Aulani and 2018 might see us use some points at Vero or Hilton Head, it's likely we won't be back to WDW until 2020 ... which is kinda mind-boggling!
