Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I'm on the fence about this possible interim show too. While part of me is in "at least it would be something, I'll take what I can get" mode, another part doesn't want to settle for "something less" that might take away from the full show whenever it finally debuts and I get to see it.

No matter what, I'm looking forward to AK at night though.
That's what I say. At least they would open up AK at night if they did this....

Well, I'm thinking if that was true, there are an awful lot of Minnesotans who are in trouble every Sunday when they have to drive into Wisconsin to buy alcohol...hee hee hee (still can't buy off-sale - only served in restaurants - in MN on Sundays...I know....what's up with that????)

Actually, there are still several states (10 maybe???) where it is illegal to bring alcohol into the state (not that most people in those states even know about it). Pennsylvania is one of them. I know there a bunch along the southern/gulf coast -- but not FL. I think the fine in PA is $10/bottle of wine and $25/hard liquor -- can't remember what it is for beer. That being said, I haven't heard of anyone actually being fined. I don't think it's something that is enforced very often.

Animal kingdom is open til 8 pm on May 28. We have a club level room booked and got an email today saying they need a cc on file to book the dinner/show rol package. Asked me to call asap with cc. Must be coming soon!

Okay ...... so they want you to pay for a dining package for a RoL show that is not happening but (as we've seen by the flurry of a variety of offerings given by bloggers) MAYBE a water show with "actors" but no barges .... so what will it be? Actors orchestrating the wave along the seating to the backdrop of water spraying projections occasionally disrupted by flying dead frogs.

Are you sure it was Disney and not a clever computer hack collecting CC#s from the frenzied RoL stalkers? :smooth:

!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!

:eek::faint:

What dates are you booked for?

@rteetz @HopperFan heard anything?

Out of pocket most the day and see all the bloggers ideas of what is happening. All I know for sure is that Disney is becoming quite the cluster of empty promises (yeah ... the SW RunDisney event hasn't helped out outlook on Disney promises). This Disney fan is losing trust.

Interesting! Between this and the Tumor of ROL being available for the press tomorrow I wonder if soft openings are coming soon?

HAHA, day made. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Wait, wait. If you're not staying on property, folks don't receive magic bands?

:confused3 Why would Disney GIVE you a MagicBand for free if you are not staying on property? They are not free to guests, they are paid for via room rates and used for Disney hotel rooms, Disney parking gates, Disney Dining Plans, Charging to Disney hotel rooms ................ and tickets, FP+ and PP which a card will suffice fine.

I know they do not have FP anymore. I meant to ask is the Plaza Garden the FP+ area ? So to get to stand in the FP area I have to make same day reservations for the dessert party? Why dont they just sell FP's:rotfl:
I think it's the same area, yes. @Robo had a map. I think the former FP+ area was the area now reserved for this.

Edit: I've definitely been a "Disney apologist" because I really want my first real Disney trip to be as amazing as possible, trying to ignore the negatives, but...

That's a link to May. If you want any other month, just insert the name in the address bar where "May" currently is. They have current calendars through November.

Up to August ..... and .....

WOW look at all those Magic Kingdom EMH :confused3 oh that's right, its summer time, peak season, who needs them. :rotfl2:

AND look at those closing times for AK .......... through August still not one night capable of pulling off Rumors of Light! Guess we'll just have to head over the MK and buy a walk-up dessert package :cake: to stand in the land, formerly known as Wishes FP+.

:rotfl:They should just ask who wants to buy a FP+ for Wishes! I would rather pay $20.00 to stand in the former Wishes FP area and forget the desserts.

Ahhh but they keep saying FP+ is free, they don't want to go pay route like Universal. So they sell FP+ within a package ... Fantasmic Dining, RoL Dining (oh yeah that is just a rumor), Illuminations and Wishes Dessert Parties, After Hours Events, VIP Tours ....... am sure there will be more.

But I gotta love the "SHOOBIE WISHES DESSERT PARTY" :earboy2:
