Spoke with a RoL CM at AK about the show yesterday. He told me the CMs are still being trained to learn their rolls as they are part of the show. He also told me opening should be mid to late May. The walls are down and everything looks beautiful. We were standing behind the new seating, just in front of Expedition Everest. From that side, seating to the right will be FP+ only and seating to the left will be dinner package only. He said stand-by will be standing room only. No idea how accurate he was in his knowledge, but he led the conversation without me asking for the details.

Very interesting. Well if it actually opens mid to late May it does seem an interim show would be needed. Thanks for the update!

Agreed! I'm not getting my hopes up for a show, but the other nighttime activities would be nice to see!

a quick little hi to you loungers from the magic kingdom! we've had nothing but pixie dust so far--flight landed early in MCO, our resort was the first stop for DME, and we were upgraded from a standard to King room in business class at CSR. plus the weather is beautiful!

I don't know how I feel about the idea of an interim show. On the one hand, it'd be nice to just have something. On the other hand, I think I might like to see all of the elements of ROL for the first time together. The show looks like it will be amazing when it's ever ready. If I've seen the interim show, parts of the spectacle will have already been revealed for me, possibly weakening the effect of seeing the full show for the first time. I may just decide to wait until next year if they don't have the full thing up by June.

Ooooh, what kid dance party at DS?!

There is a stage in roughly the same area as World of Disney. Had a family friendly selection of songs played by a DJ until like 10pm in 2014. I saw a schedule on easy wdw that looked like it would still be there some nights through the end of April.

We drive so I could pack some in my suitcase but I thought at one time it was illegal to drive across state lines with alcohol. But maybe I'm wrong, or maybe that's changed?? Anyone know if I'm delusional or what? lol

I believe as long as you are carrying the wine for yourself and not to sell or distribute then you are fine.

Exactly what I said when I read it. Of course, we haven't heard this directly from Disney. But based on the historical pace of a typical Disney World project, I don't imagine an interim show would be ready until at least July or August....or December.

I'm on the fence about this possible interim show too. While part of me is in "at least it would be something, I'll take what I can get" mode, another part doesn't want to settle for "something less" that might take away from the full show whenever it finally debuts and I get to see it.

No matter what, I'm looking forward to AK at night though.

Well, I'm thinking if that was true, there are an awful lot of Minnesotans who are in trouble every Sunday when they have to drive into Wisconsin to buy alcohol...hee hee hee (still can't buy off-sale - only served in restaurants - in MN on Sundays...I know....what's up with that????)

I bring a small basket for personal items like tooth brush and make-up for storing on the shelf under the sink or on the closet shelf in the resort room. Keeps the clutter down, and also use it in my suitcase and it helps keep stuff from getting squashed. Otherwise, not-so-unconventional stuff is plenty of wine and snacks for the room - the room it takes in the suitcase going down is freed up for souvenirs coming home.

Edited to add: I also bring my own extra hangers for hanging clothes since there is so little drawer space...
