Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

OT for RoL, but for any other Apr people, I learned from the awesome SW thread this morning that they extended the fireworks dessert party at DHS through Apr!! I snagged a date for us. :)

So I can cross ONE THING I AM STALKING off my list today... :thumbsup2

Dang...I just had to go out and book it for our trip...see what happens when you are "READY TO BOOK HARD TO FIND ADRs????" Sheesh...don't tell me about anything else, unless it's the ROL dining or FP!!

I'd be ready to book if it fit! I booked Club Villain over the weekend for our DHS day. Now the question is whether to re-arrange another day to see the SW fireworks another night with the dessert party...

DH will have a fit if you book a Star Wars dessert party for date night?

We don't really have unlimited funds for this trip, and already we're doing less than our last trip but it is costing more. Adding the dessert party will be about $138. Add that to the dinner we already have scheduled and the cost of the childcare - $15 per child per hour, and this would definitely add some time to our evening so lets say another $60. Given that I already talked him into extending our trip a night, and the possibility of paying for a preview party for 4, then yes, a fit may be had. And he probably won't be in favor of giving up the sit-down dinner for it. I get where he's coming from - this has been a frustrating trip to plan.

Ok, that makes more sense to me than the possibility that he wouldn't be interested in a Star Wars dessert party :)

Oh no, he'd love it! Although I would say I'm the more die-hard fan of the two of us. But I think I'm losing my mind. I thought I would book it for my date night since it's available, and talk him into it later or cancel. And it appeared to be available, but when I clicked on it, it disappeared and when the screen returned, that date was no longer "clickable". Every other day that week, but not the 18th anymore. So weird - I must be losing it. So now I'd have to change everything unless we all go. Ugh. Frustrating.

I did, don't let me be the only one :)
Now I'm adding a day at the front of our trip, on top of it all.
Though I am putting us on an earlier flight home. We leave at 7pm instead of 10pm. Since I am losing those 3 hours at Disney I figured, why not add an entire day at the start ;) That makes sense right?

Oddly enough the 18th has never been available since they put it on the calendar a few days ago. That is the day that would have worked best for us so I had to arrange other things instead. DH and I did the party last week and it is the best fireworks party event they've ever had, and we've done them all. It never entered my head to NOT do it when they put them on the schedule

OT, but there are a few of us in the world who DON'T think Star Wars is all that. It holds zero interest for me.

As I said, I'm probably losing it! I probably clicked a different date but the 18th is our date night. It sounds awesome! That's good to hear it was so good! I think what I am going to do - since I also added a day ;) - I will book a second date night if everything else is available, and then try to talk him into it. Our plans the following night were pretty loose, so hopefully that will work. Unless ROL throws a monkey wrench into it! But your ringing endorsement makes me want to do it!!

But have you seen these fireworks? Honestly, you sure don't need to like the theme to enjoy them. They are hands down the best fireworks display Disney has ever done and that has nothing to do with them being Star Wars theme

Have not been to the parks since they started them. And not to Studios (other than running through in races) in years as there is not enough there to bother wasting a ticket for me.

Sorry, but still not wasting one in August. I don't care how good they are, no fireworks display is worth $97.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, and I don't like fireworks. So I'm not a fan either. I'm kind of interested in the summer ones because Disney made them sound pretty cool, but for me they'll probably be one and done.

Yeah, if you don't like fireworks then they are probably a waste of time.
The current ones can be seen from outside the park but once they add in the display feature on the Chinese Theater you'll wan to be inside

I like to try to see everything once, just in case something surprises me, so I'll definitely try to be in the park to see the summer ones at least once. Whenever they decide 'summer' may be!

Are the fireworks the same as the Frozen fireworks last year? Or are they even better?
