Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Ok, I have a couple of past observations and a question.

My experience in the past has been that the fast pass booking windows open one hour after the last park closes for the day. So, since there has been a lot of chatter about March 11th (possibly) being the opening of fast pass and ADR access for ROL and ROL dinner packages, is it safe to assume that we should all be online tonight at midnight with plans at the ready?

Safe to assume? No. From the rumors (and goodness knows there are a million different ones right now!) it seems like tomorrow might just be the sale of the preview tickets, potentially the dinner package. I have no idea what time they might release those packages, if they release them at all. It could be midnight, it could be 5am, 6am, 7am, or really whenever they feel like it.

There is zero chance of me being awake at midnight, but thanks to a baby sitting on my bladder, when I get up during the night I'll definitely check things out. I honestly think it's quicker to check this thread for updates than it is to get onto the Disney site.

That's what I've been doing.
My alarm goes off at 6:30. I pick up my phone, turn off the alarm and click the web browser to open this thread. It will be really clear to me if I can a. sleep for 5 more min till DH's alarm goes off or b. get up and book our event

For those of you who have patiently/not-so-patiently watched these types of new event reservation opening in the past, do you know if the travel agent park hours calendar is "usually" updated before Disney website hours get updated? Currently, the travel agent calendar hasn't been updated since 2/12, and still has the old AK hours on it, with no reference to ROL.

Then again, boy would I kick myself if I missed it!!

I'm not sure what to do... stay up late? I get at 5 thirty anyway and I'm on the East Coast so that part's covered! Although I do remember the BOG morning and I definitely got it before 6 am! The only day I think I could get a FP would be for 4/22, opening night. But that's mostly if I don't get a preview party. That is of course if the preview parties are definitely a real thing. But I'd really want one if the party thing doesn't pan out... I'm glad there are people here that I can "talk" to about these things...

We got to catch the DL 60th fireworks /projection show and we LOVED it! I was thrilled when I first heard about the new SW fireworks "this summer" -- hope to catch them in Aug.

We really enjoyed the one during halloween party last year!

For this past week my sleep schedule has been a mess. I am very jittery and have several internet pages I have to check constantly or I freak out.

Disney please release preview party reservations this instant or I will lose it!

the FPs being desired, are we talking actual 'seating' or a spot to flop along the bank as they do fantasmic @ DL?

RoL has seating the same as Fantasmic! and the fp will work the same way, you'll have a guaranteed seat as long as you are there at the appointed time

I know! My only option for the FP would probably be opening night, so the odds are not in my favor! I'm 36 days out from my trip, so I still have a small advantage by staying on-site, for FPs.

It's funny - I had forgotten about the BOG until I saw one of your posts on this thread. I read about how they were starting to take breakfast reservations here, and had all the info and was ready to go. Woke up at 5:30 to get ready to go to the gym, and just was getting ready to check before I headed out, and just on a lark tried it early - I was very glad I did when things fell apart in the morning! Hoping to get lucky again!

I'm losing track of what I need to keep checking, and at this point my itinerary is a mess of multiple reservations, because I don't know what we're doing and I'm trying to keep options open for ROL! My DH is sick of listening to me, and no one else wants to hear it! Which, I totally get, of course!

Someone remind me to cancel the stuff I don't need once this is all set!

Don't feel bad! You aren't alone in the pain in the tushie Disney is putting us through. My dh keeps asking when I'm going to schedules tours and I tell him after my last ADR is set!

My DH is afraid to ask at this point! And tonight I don't think I want to share the new developments, since instead of something solid for ROL, I now somehow have two different reservations for the Star Wars dessert party!! Hmmm, how did that happen? Hoping I get to keep one, lol!

Actually, when BOG started accepting ADRs for lunch, they opened a little before 6:00 a.m. And the site crashed. Disney advertised that ADRs would open at 6:00 a.m. but many of us were on at 5:45 and just constantly refreshing. Let's hope for a more reasonable ADR beginning time (like 6:00 a.m. rather than 3:00 a.m.) for ROL.

April dates for the dessert party got released today for my week, and once I saw pictures of it, what was I supposed to do?? The lure of the Chewie stein was just too much for me to resist. It wasn't even in my Sphere of Planning when it was it wasn't available. I mean, it wasn't available!! And now it is... one more ball in the air!!

My current plan is to wait until I have something nailed down for ROL, be it an FP, or preview party, or dining package. I see the dining package as the least likely, based on what I have read. Again, I am not picky! But once that is in place, then final shuffling can occur, and then I can present the new plans/ideas for the trip and dazzle him with pictures of Darth Vader cupcakes and ROL excitement!

So is the rumor that it's just FP's being released tomorrow, or preview parties as well? My last day is the 20th so I have my eye on those parties!
