Are the fireworks the same as the Frozen fireworks last year? Or are they even better?

No, they are nothing like the Frozen fireworks.

There has been nothing like them done by Disney, that I can think of, thus far.

Has anyone heard if they will extend the Star Wars fireworks into May? I know they will be permanent this summer but we arrive in the parks on May 1st. The last date I can find that they are available is April 30.

Between waiting for the preview events to be released, waiting for the course map and merchandise previews to be released for SW weekend and waiting on info for the W&D race, Disney is making me more crazy than usual right now!

Grrr! They better roll out the ROL ADRs before I book everything else. All this talk about the SW dessert party - had to pull the trigger for Apr 21st.
Plus I already booked Villains for the 23rd and now waiting for ROL. I better get a second and/or third job to pay for all of this.
The excuse is...its our last trip for the next 2 years (unless something new and exciting pops up ) its the first big family trip since 2010 and just because we love the Villains and SW! Yeah - those are all good reasons to give Disney more of our money. But hey, we're saving money because we didn't renew our APs.

A new show is starting this "summer" (rumored to be 5/27). Though no official word yet, I assume the existing fireworks will remain until the new ones start.

They are "similar" to the FSF display, but no stage show getting in the way and set to Star Wars music. Fan of the movies or not, they are a must see IMO.

Where have you heard that the new fireworks show would start 5/27? That would be interesting to to me since the permits for the fireworks launch site don't expire until sometime in June I believe.

I thought someone said that's what the HUB said, but I could be wrong. It's hard to keep track of where info is coming from these days.

That's the way I remember it too.

Bottom line, there will be Star Wars themed fireworks at some point in the summer and it will be above and beyond what they currently have, with the additions of Projections
No one really knows for sure if the current ones will continue past the current April dates or not.

Yep, they'll have projections and other elements, somewhat similar to Disneyland's 60th fireworks.

We got to catch the DL 60th fireworks /projection show and we LOVED it! I was thrilled when I first heard about the new SW fireworks "this summer" -- hope to catch them in Aug.

So, since there has been a lot of chatter about March 11th (possibly) being the opening of fast pass and ADR access for ROL and ROL dinner packages, is it safe to assume that we should all be online tonight at midnight with plans at the ready?

I will be, just in case! Although for me it will be only 9:00. West coast here! I plan to watch it from 9:00 until I go to bed and then check again as soon as I get up tomorrow.

I don't know if anyone has even heard yet if FP will be loaded up for booking on the 11th...but you can be sure I'll be watching here too!

FYI: fast pass window opens at midnight now, regardless of last park close. I didn't think about being on at midnight, because I can't book FP for my trip yet, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to check for ADRs then. I do have tomorrow off.
