Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

That's not fair. He/she may not know, may not have been told anything, or may have been instructed to say just this.

employee's should be all on the same page. people here are all over the place with what they are told.

but it's just not disney. . . companies in general are all over the place when it comes to giving out information it seems.

May I ask what the "hub" is? Totally clueless on this one. Called this morning on another issue and cm gave me dining. Was curious about the AMC dining theater and if you have to book ADR's for it. I've not seen an opening for our dates, and she gave me the AMC # to call. Guess that's how I book a movie in April or did I just miss making an ADR there? While I was there, asked about ROL. She said she saw it on April 22, but didn't see any other dates available (ie: preview party, dining ressies, etc). She did say to keep checking. Guess we'll "just keep checking, just keep checking"...:)

It's the internal site that can only be accessed by CMs.

(You don't make an ADR for AMC. You just buy a ticket for the movie & show up. It's the same process as buying a ticket to a movie at home.)

AMC is not a Disney property and they don't do ADR. You just buy a ticket to a movie for that theater. We've done it several times

Thanks so much! I saw it on the Dining page, but assumed I missed it, since it said no times available. That's good to know! I will say the cm I talked to was very kind, and seemed like she shared all she knew. We'll just keep checking. :)

Thanks for posting this... jogged my memory that I had WANTED to book BTMRR FP+ and it was NOT there when my dates opened. I just went back in and switched one to BTMRR. :)

That's what happened to me too - it was not available when I did my FPs over President's Day weekend, but then read the info here that it was postponed and I was able to modify...I consider it my consolation prize for no Soarin'...

Just to tag along, IF they offer any preview packages, those will likely have to be pre-paid. I would think they will handle this like any special dining event.

So, do you think that if it's pre-paid, you will still be able to cancel if needed (kind of like CRT, if I remember although it's been a few years since we've been there)? My itinerary is such a mess, my plan was to try to get the preview package, and then figure things out as it unfolds, like if dining packages are released a few days later or something...

It's extremely unusual for Disney to do events that are non-refundable. The only ones I know of are at Epcot during Food and Wine. But they are very clear when booking that they are final purchase/no refunds.

It blows my mind that 5 people can call there and get 5 different answers.
Exactly! I can understand some CMs may be "more in the know" or even more willing to give out info than others but in general, on the same day, to say its "postponed indefinitely" AND "booking starts tomorrow" is just kind of crazy!

At the risk of repeating myself, calling in to a CM is like a box of chocolates...

JMO-I think they will handle the preview packages just like special Food and Wine events. It's usually in the spiel that the read to you before before booking that this is a pre-paid, non-refundable reservation.

Yup. I've learned to book carefully.

Thanks! Just trying to prepare in case I have to make a snap decision. With the way things have been going with this and the tight timeframe, who knows? It being non-refundable hadn't occurred to me, since I haven't done a lot of special events, I had just figured it would work like regular dining reservations. I guess only time will tell...

Seriously, I'm glad this came up just in case! My trip/plans is so up in the air, I definitely need to pay attention when they finally do start booking!

Your ticket is the reservation for AMC Dine In Theater. You buy Tickets for a Movie that is part of Dine In. It is reserved seating, so that is your reservation. You can only buy tickets for AMC Dine In Theater through AMC's website, Fandango or In person at the Theater because Movie Schedules aren't usually set until the Wednesday of the week starting Wednesday. For Example If you want to see a film for the week of April 15th-21st, you aren't able to buy a ticket until April 13th. They put them on the Dining page to promote it to get more people there. Does this help you understand AMC Dine In Theater better?

My advice, have a paper, pen and take your time when booking. If for some reason they don't mention about possible refunds, ask the CM. It's perfectly fine for you to make sure you know any restrictions with booking. This will be new for them, too (if/when) it opens. :goodvibes

I always used this picture on the SWW thread when we were all waiting for packages and character dining to open, this thread reminds me very much of that one...
