Rumor: Next Tuesday is the last day for the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich

I hope this isn't true. I looooooove the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich. It is a must eat on any visit.

The previous salad has a note on the menu saying it could be made vegetarian. For your sake I hope they at least add a note that they can sub a veggie patty for the burger. Sometimes the seasonal soup at Harbour Galley is vegetarian, so that could be an option, or the kids meal.

Did anyone notice the the Harbour Galley menu also changed? They got rid of the baked potatoes and roast beef and shrimp salads and replaced them with a single tuna salad and a tuna salad sandwich. They got ride of the broccoli cheddar soup (which had chicken broth.) Still no vegetarian option. And they kept that $15 lobster roll. No way am I buying lobster at what is essentially a fast food stand, and not going to spend $15 on a Disney CS sandwich, either.

No more potatoes at Harbour Galley?! Boo! Dd is gluten free & she could eat those, while the rest of us are clam chowder.

I complained to Disney about the fried green tomato sandwich and the bumblebee cupcake being gone! Take that!

I just had the fried green tomato sandwich on Saturday. I'm so glad I did. It was my favorite lunch in the park. I'm so sad. Boooooooooo!

LOL

I actually have a spreadsheet of attractions and food places in each land I want to make sure we hit. Yeah, I'm just that dorky. I went and angrily erased Harbor Galley from it. :(
Ummm..... I have a spreadsheet also! :rolleyes1

I was getting so confused with hours and reservations and things I didn't want to forget, so out came Excel. My family thinks I'm nuts, but it gives me peace of mind.

I just emailed them too! Not about the fried green tomato sandwich--sound delicious but I've never had it--but about the removal of the baked potatoes! It was seriously the only quick service food dd9 could/would eat! I'm thankful that DLR has such wonderful gluten free options, but it royally bites that they're all at table service restaurants! Especially when the rest of the family just wants something quick :(

And now no more Aladdin after January 10, 2016. It is being kicked out by more Frozen. Aladdin was a great show.

Disneyland Resort has gone mad!

I will email about that too! Bummed that we missed it with my parents over the summer.

Sherry, where did you read this? I don't doubt you, just curious.

Thanks Sherry! I subscribe the blog in Feedly, but must've skimmed past it when I saw "Frozen" and didn't read on to see it was at DCA.

Well if you're nuts, then I am too.

But seriously, how do you keep track of these things WITHOUT spreadsheets and notes?? I'd forget ... almost everything I need to know

Slightly OT, does she have celiac and did she get sick? I know they changed the toppings and added the shrimp, but when I had checked a few years ago when they sold the potatoes at Troubador Tavern, none of the toppings were GF, not even the bacon. They could only offer it with sour cream and chives.

Yes she has celiac, and no she didn't get sick. BUT she eats them with butter only. She might have had chives?

Well, that's too bad that they couldn't come up with a GF topping. I thought maybe they switched BBQ sauce for the chicken. They also got rid of the only vegetarian one and now that they've gotten rid of the potatoes they've still not replaced them with something vegetarian. And I'll just go ahead and speculate that the new salad isn't going to be GF either. Maybe they'll stock GF buns for the new sandwich.

Yuck- How disappointing. We always eat at the Hungry Bear because DH really liked the Turkey and Provolone Sandwich, DD and I prefer sweet potato fries, and we liked the atmosphere. DH is not going to want the wrap with Caesar dressing in it, and he is not big on red meat (burger) or anything fried. I might be okay with the salad, but DD isn't going to want to eat there without the sweet potato fries, and there isn't anything on the menu now that DH is going to want, so I guess that is marked off the list of places to eat.

I'm far more upset about Aladdin, than lunch though! That is the best show we have ever seen on any Disney property. Last time they said they said they were getting rid of it, a few years back, we even cancelled at WDW trip and went to DLR instead so that DD could see it before it was gone, as she had never seen it. They have overdone Frozen to the point where even the kids are getting burnt out on it. DD, started out as a huge Frozen fan, but her displeasure started when they gave Elsa the Castle lighting show of CINDERELLA's castle at WDW and took it away from Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother. Since then, she has felt like she has been bombarded with Frozen by Disney to the point, where when I told her about the Frozen show taking over Aladdin's spot she actually said the shocking words "I HATE FROZEN". This is big for someone that has more Elsa and Anna dolls of different types and styles around the house than I can probably count.

Just sent a note to DLR.

November will be my first time at DLR and both of these eateries were on my list. I feel this may be a slippery slope toward food option selection at WDW. Lord knows that is NOT the way to go...

You don't even want to get me started of Frozen. >:(
