Do you know what is ironic is all the victims were Catholic except maybe Rosemary La Bianca who was cremated. What is it with La Bianca that should make it filtered???

That definately made Linda Kasabian a much more sympathetic witness to the jury. She did some really bad things and actually ended up with a pretty unhappy life, bit at least she didn't kill anyone.

I'd imagine it would have been harder for the prosecution to go with Susan as their main witness, especially if they gave her immunity, considering she admitted stabbing an 8 months pregnant woman while telling her she had no mercy for her.

WHo said that, Susan or Patricia? It was Patricia that I said shows remorse... Not that that matters to me in terms of punishment.

When you start watching and reading too much, a lot of times it runs together and you forget what's truth and what's nothing more than rumor. Since I can't recall ever watching any of Patricia's parole hearings (which are available on youtube for anyone interested), I will have to insist that it was Susan, but I wouldn't wager my last buck away on the fact that I'm not wrong.

For the record, I didn't confuse what you said. My post was meant to back up the fact that you didn't feel Susan was remorseful, not to challenge what you said. I agree with you 100%. Susan was so remorseful that as of last year, she said she'd never done anything in her life that she regrets.

While I do believe that murders can enter the kingdom of Heaven if they are truly saved (Bible says salvation is granted by accepting Christ), I have to wonder if Susan isn't using Christianity as a meal ticket of out of the poky. I guess that's between her and her God when she passes, though. I just don't think if you're truly saved, you'd conduct yourself the way she has. Again though, it's not my call to make on judgment day.

She should die in prison. Why should she get a "compassionate release" when she specifically showed no compassion whatsoever for her victims??

This woman was sentenced to death. She already received her "compassionate release" when the death penalty was declared unconstitutional in 1972 and her death sentence was commuted to life in prison. She has already received an extra 36 more years of life since the sentence change and an extra 39 years than her victims.

When she sentenced her victims to death by her own hand, they did not have the opportunity to spend their last moments alive with their loved ones. Why should she be given this consideration?

She was part of a group that carried out the murders.

If you believe that a person actually had to hold the knife and stab someone in order to be a murderer (Susan Atkins confessed several times that she did stab people) then they need to let old Charlie Manson out right now because all he did was tell other folks to go kill a few people.

That's why the law provides for all actors in furtherance of a conspiracy to be charged with the result of the conspiracy itself.

If Susan is as bad off as the articles say, "compassionate release" won't make much difference. She will be completely incapacitated wherever she is.

I have a feeling her death may be slow, but she'll be assisted through it with plenty of morphine to keep her comfortable. I feel very strongly though that God does even things out whether in this world or in the next. I do also feel that forgiveness is given to those who TRULY repent and are sorry. I don't mean those who apologize, I mean the ones who honestly would trade places with the ones they have harmed because the feeling of remorse they have is worse then what they have done to the other.

What about when Sharon Tate pleaded for compassion for her baby, after she watched and heard her friends being brutally slaughtered, and begged them to let her live long enough to have the baby? Where was the compassion for her and her baby? The only thing Susan Atkins deserves was to have been executed over 30 years. ago. So, the poor girl had her leg amputated eh? Did they cut it off without any anesthesia? Sort of what they did to Abigail Folger when they practically disemboweled her alive. Anyone who has seen the crime scene pictures can attest to how they butchered those people in on August 9th and 10th of 1969, the killers don't deserve pitty.

If they release her, they may as well just go spit on Sharon's grave. Atkins is a murderer, sentenced to life. Not sentenced to life until your so sick you can plead for compassion. Sorry, the thought of her being free just makes me ill.

I read page 1 of comments. Doesn't change a thing about how I feel. I still think she should rot in prison till she dies. She deserves nothing more, no matter how "good" she turned out after 30+ years in prison.
