Another data point. Hong Kong
Disneyland has been closed since January 26 and no word when it will re-open despite COVID-19 under control in Hong Kong (special administrative zone not governed by China), evidenced by:
1) Total death of
4 for a total population of 7.5 million people packed in an area less than the size of Los Angeles city. Last COVID-19 death was March 13.
2) Number of new daily cases peaked at 82 three weeks ago.
3) Daily new cases last eight days - 4, 5, 3, 4, 1, 4, 2, 2
I'm sure the Hong Kong Government will also have input on when HK Disneyland can re-open so it's not a one-sided decision. Interestingly, on the resort side, two on-site hotels have stayed close while the flagship HK Disneyland Hotel has stayed open despite the park itself being closed. I believe this is the same with Shanghai Disneyland (park still closed but resort area opening first with safety checks on entering guests). I can see this happening for U.S. too, i.e. Disney opening hotels,
DVC resorts, selected businesses in downtown area first, even before a definite date for park opening can be announced.
