Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Yep

Someone posted in one of these threads that their May trip went into June by a few days and the whole thing was canceled. I don't know why they wouldn't have called them to move the dates a little if they were going to open in early June.
Yes, if your trip starts in the cancelled period but spans into a time not officially cancelled they cancel the whole trip. Ours is broken by a resort change so we won't have that issue. You do have to call and modify or modify online before they cancel you to prevent that.

I was just reading on DFB that the free dining offer for those affected by the closures with cancelled trips is no longer being offered. Do you think they’ll give some sort of offer to those being cancelled in June? I still want to go on my trip if they’re open!
No. They specifically told the TAs the offer is 25% off until 8/31 and they said it just linked to the public offer.

But if people have the dining one booked, done get cancelled they might be able to get that offer applied. Suspect they’ll have to pay the cost difference between room rates if there is one though.,.

Because Disney doesn’t care enough to hire a person to do that work. They’re leaving it on the guest to modify their own reservation.

Was just playing around with July dates and saw that CSR is available but is over $800 per night!!! That can't be right.View attachment 493802
But seriously maybe the rumored offer is expired and they’re starting to load rooms back in the system... or someone just cancelled that room and Disney IT won the day again by letting it release back into general inventory?

I may have missed it buy perhaps @yulilin3 knows, upon landing in Florida are they checking IDs to see where people are coming from or just basing it off of the route of the flight? For instance is someone in NY flies out of PA, will that person still need to quarantine? What about if someone from IL has a layover in NY, will they need to quarantine?

I expect that to be lifted as they move into phase II, but who knows.
they don't check ID, they are having everyone coming from certain airports fill out the questionnaire and asked to self isolate. So it doesn't matter where you live, just what airport you are flying from.
Also if, lets say you depart from Indianapolis but change planes at, lets say, JFK, you will be asked to do it.

We hedged out bets. I left June there, added a few days in a separate reservation to our existing one- that way I can cancel without having to worry about whether I've messed up other plans and it keeps all my FP's in place, regardless of that they do. The downside is, I have a small fortune tied up in I don't even know how many reservations at this point.
My problem is that those are literally the only dates I can go between. Our fiscal year closes June 26 and opens July 5 this year so I have that week free. If I book another package for the same days, just in July, idk if we could get those fast passes again. Those are all our good ones lol!

It does make it hard. Summer is it for us and has to be before August. We’re a family of teachers and a long trip in the fall is impossible. It was like pulling teeth just get enough days to make our March trip. If not this summer, it will be next year before the whole family can go.

Same here- which is why I've been upset on the DVC points. If we cancel, we will lose the ability to use 39 points because they'll time out before we can use them. I did take @yulilin3's suggestion and emailed them. Can't hurt!

I noticed 3 or 4 different types of suites (both tower and outer buildings) available playing around with dates in July today. Idk what is going on there... what do you think those rooms would get moved to if indeed the whole resort gets booked out to a 3rd party? That could be one fancy upgrade! :joker:

Apparently there was an email by Josh D'Amaro that went out and said they would be
Disney Food Blog stated today face coverings will be required.
Obviously, maybe they know or not.
Waiting for official word from the mouse.

So while I'm still going to hold on to one last shred of hope for our June 19th trip, I want to start having a backup plan in mind. I'm a school principal, so my options are limited. We could go for early to mid-July, but by the end of July we are back to getting ready for the new school year. I'm not interested in the crowds at Christmas. Thanksgiving might work, but also concerned about crowds. Anyone want to speculate about Thanksgiving week crowds this year? We would likely go from the Saturday before until the Saturday after.

I think there's going to be a significant proportion of the population for whom either money or fear or both will still keep them away. I know fall break often includes inservice days, but if you have a fall break that happens to be the LAST week of October, it's actually been really great for us in the past (earlier weeks in October are awful.) I think for the foreseeable future crowds will be really light - the tradeoff being less entertainment, masks, etc.

Jealous of those of you who get a fall break! Well, kind of. I'm guessing you probably go back before us. Our first day isn't until September 8. I would go ahead and plan a first week of September trip if it weren't for the fact that I have zero clue what days teachers will need to be available for PD/planning days.
