Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I wonder what would happen if AND when a guest who has entered the parks coughs or sneezes. This will happen, there is no doubt. Is that guest automatically removed from the park? Will other guests chastise them and/or report them to cast members? Will that guest (and their party, presumably) be escorted to have a rapid Covid-19 test done? And if said person is positive, is the entire theme park evacuated? I mean, the measures just completely snowball. A guest with no fever coughing and sneezing will happen. It could be allergies, it could be swallowing food or drink wrong, etc. How will they handle it? How will other guests handle it?

I usually sprinkle black pepper on my food before I eat. But when I do, eventually I WILL sneeze - more than once. I can't help it.

Seriously? I assume you’re joking, they are obviously not evacuating over a cough or sneeze.

That question goes beyond just disney. When restaurants start to open back up how will they handle it. Things like that are things just about all businesses are going to have to find a way to deal with but I think at a minimum they are likely to be shunned a but by other people who will not want to be near them.

I wonder how they will handle rides where there will be screaming unless people will have to wear masks. Wasn't that choir practice found to be one of the most prolific methods of spreading (shouting/singing)??

I also imagine there will be no preshows. Like at Haunted Mansion they will leave the stretching room open to just walk through.

Paper is a renewable resource. There are more trees in North America right now than anytime in history. It also breaks down in landfills unlike plastic.

Disney isn’t going to be testing anyone. By the time someone leaves, gets tested and informs Disney it will be much too late to evacuate anything.

I really doubt it.

By opening before this is eliminated or vaccinated for (if either of those things even happen) I would think they have to accept that this is a possibility, maybe even a somewhat frequent one. There is no way they’re evacuating the park because someone tests positive. Worst case number of cases explode they have to shut down again, but not for an individual positive.

I was just debating this with my grand niece. She thought the Haunted Mansion would be closed because of the stretching room until I pointed out that room could operate as a walk through. She's a young tween, so it didn't occur to her. I may have ruined the magic...

If they limit to resort guests only, my guess is the majority of people won’t ever leave WDW property. It’s not like they’ll spend a lot of time at local venues. I know we won’t. Once on property, we’ll be there until our trip is over. To me, the bigger risk is people coming in for the day and then head back into the community.

Except all those resort guests interact with CMs that then go to local venues. It’s scary that a place like Disney will bring people from all over the country, including hotspots together, mix them all around, and then send them all home again- maybe to spots that haven’t had an outbreak yet.

I'm honestly more afraid of the asymptomatic patient. The carrier that isn't coughing, sneezing, or running fever. I've seen several patients in the ED with minimal symptoms being positive. I've told my staff from the very beginning, they likely won't get it from the patient showing signs or symptoms, it'll be the twisted ankle patient or the hand laceration patient that'll give it to you because you let your guard down.

I have already checked in for my June trip and had declined housekeeping. I went back in to change my room request last week and it still showed the option to decline it. Today, that option is completely gone from the Update check in area.

Mine is not showing up today either but was there yesterday. We are scheduled the first week of June.

I think they'll make a concerted effort to limit CM interaction. Nothing is 100% guarantee and if someone isn't comfortable with the modifications and risks, it's perfectly understandable for them not to go. I'm confident if Disney opens, and if we follow the guidelines, our risk is minimal, so we're going. Others may feel differently, and that's fine. I just don't think this is all as complicated as we're making it.

Clearly you work in the medical field. What would you do if they parks reopen June 1st with the task force measures in place that were discussed today? Would you go? I have only followed the CDC website for daily information regarding this, because I don't care for the political nonsense that has been imbedded into this tragedy. I trust the opinions of professionals on the subject and would love to hear what you would do?

I also share this concern. We won't be able to fly if we have to wear masks on the plane. My 7 month old son gets scared and cries when I wear a mask. There's no way I could take him on a 3.5 hour plane ride and have him crying the whole time. It would be nice to know what the travel industry as a whole plans to do so that we could plan accordingly.

That’s part of my concern too b/c DS gets scared when we wear them too. Plus 2 year olds usually require a lot of redirection & you can’t understand ppl well with a mask on.

Thinking about theme parks opening at 50% capacity.... could that mean 50% ride capacity? For example every one row on Big Thunder.
