Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Until the lawsuits roll in.

Exactly --- Disney (unlike a lot of other businesses) want to have their customers to have an enjoyable experience. Kicking people out because they refuse to take a test or wear a mask isn't very customer friendly (especially in the hot summer/fall sun). Who knows . .maybe our culture will change, but not overnight.

Again .. lawsuits .. people will lawyer up over the craziest of things (that are usually their fault) . .

I feel if DIsney requires masks or tests .. that MAY make them liable for their guests health. If they require a test, and that person is actually positive and spreads it to another family .. who gets COVID-19 and a member of that family dies .. I could easily see them suing the pants off Disney for "negligent testing" and a "unsafe environment".

I mean if you can sue a store for slipping on natural ICE in their parking lot, I am sure you can make a case of suing them for getting infected by a virus they were supposedly testing for.

People can sue because of anything. That doesn't mean they will win. Disney has good lawyers.

Also, requiring someone to wear a mask doesn't make Disney liable for their guests' health. Disney requires footwear for safety. Disney isn't liable for guests' health because of that requirement.

Good luck with that. Most people at the parks are entitled. I'm guessing you didn't read the post of what is rumored in what Disney will look like when it reopens.

You state that parades and fireworks will be a no go. Then to someone else you post a blog that talks about what Shanghai Disneyland is doing in testing for reopening. In that blog they state this

"Other posts suggest that Shanghai Disneyland has begun to test parades and a castle light show in recent days as well. "

"A couple of days ago, internal testing of theater seating also commenced. "

So if Disney in China is testing Parades, Light shows, and theater seating. Then yes i believe things will open up fairly normal.

I believe they currently are doing meet greets/character breakfasts in Shanghai in the resorts and have been for the past few weeks
Link? Iv read some dining is open but if not seen meet and greets or character dining being mentioned yet

With everyone forced to wear masks, like they are doing at Shanghai Disneyland.

Yep everything will be back to normal in a couple of weeks!

Yes, the info coming from Disney Shanghai's test of their new protocols is very interesting. Lots of stickers on the ground indicating where to step, walk, wait, etc.

Something else that just occurred to me is that Disney will probably not be able to accommodate ECVs with these distancing measures because not everyone is able to control the pace to be the same or slower than a walking pace and in order for the distancing to work, you cannot have them passing by between groups. It will probably need to be limited to regular wheelchairs.

I think a lot of people want this virus to be much worse than it really is and have a much longer lasting negative affect on everything than it already has.

But hey. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Nobody wants this to be worse than it is. Some are just more realistic about it than others. How severe the virus is vs. how it's perceived is really moot. Requirements will be what they are, and make no mistake can be required and enforced. A fact many seem out of touch with.

Magic is a very subjective feel/mood. Only speaking for me the magic comes from the details the music, the smells, sitting in my favorite spot people watching, the cast members. I often get asked if the magic has died for me after being there all the time and the answer is no. But again it's subjective and personal
This is what I was going to say. The magic for me isn't in the rides, or meeting characters, it's in the little things. I love the walk down mainstreet with the music and the piped in smells, or walking in to any park with their music, and just generally enjoying the ambiance. Of course my kids are not character kids, they don't care and neither do my husband and I. Is it fun to watch a parade? Sure, but I haven't even seen a parade in over a year because it's not what's important to me. My husband and I will hopefully go for our anniversary in July, and we've both said we still want to go even if they make cut back on certain things including fireworks and such, it's not what makes the trip for us. We want to just be there, relax, enjoy the atmosphere (maybe a little less crowded, that would be a treat), and just be at WDW. We all have to decide what we're willing to "put up with" and still enjoy the magic/experience, and that will be different for everyone, which is why I hate the "people that are going when they first open with all the *rumored* modifications are crazy, it's not worth going!" rhetoric.

THANK YOU! to each their own!!!!

I would say, and it's horrible, but most people who need the ECVs are more than likely in a high risk group and probably should refrain from a trip to any Disney park for the foreseeable future, at least until there is a viable treatment or vaccine. It's too much risk for elderly or those with health problems, of course they are more than welcome to make those decisions for themselves, but it's probably not the right decision to go immediately anyway. I could see regular wheelchairs being what needs to be used, but those do get exhausting to push especially in the Florida weather.

They are , I saw a video of chip and dale parading through a restaurant for their birthday. It looked as if the handlers were keeping people from touching them, but they were very close to the characters.

Would be interesting to see that if you can find the link

Agree and this may be a subtle way for Disney to discourage those in higher risks groups without telling those groups to stay home, which would not be very guest friendly. But since it's not feasible to implement these social distancing measures with ECVs, it's just easier to direct everyone to wheelchairs.

from the end of march but more videos are showing the same

They are testing parades and entry today. Shanghai will be opening soon it appears, I bet they open the park first part of May. That easily places WDW to open parks first part of July

If they suspend most of the transportation options, I think you'll see more people using ECVs.

I still think what Disney is doing in Shanghai will probably happen here. Disney is going to be different and I think that's where a lot of people differ. It seems like a lot think the gates are going to open and it will the Disney of old. I don't think it is, social distancing is going to be here for awhile. Shanghai wouldn't be doing what they are doing if that's the case. I fully believe some of the rumored measures will be put in place. Limited capacity will be around for awhile.
