Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Because there is probably other more urgent stuff to deal with like water leaks maybe.

I read somewhere that each resorts manager was kept on and they spend much of their days going around every room running taps and checking for leaks and other urgent room issues.
You're right, i'm sure the plumbers are the ones that do ride repairs

there is a big difference from maintaining a closed ride than getting one back up a whole park back up. nothing like getting one ride back up from a closure. I am basing what I say from a park that closes over the winter which is more like what Disney is coming back from than a reopening of one ride from refrub which Disney has never had to do before. and this is a lot different than custodial cleaning

I would bet that they know exactly what they are doing, and I'd also bet that they are maintaining and/or running the rides as needed. I would also bet that Disney could easily have the park ready to open in a week, maybe 2. June 1st is not completely out of the realm of possibility.....yet. I would think that if they knew for certain that they couldn't open, they do the same thing that DL is doing and stop taking reservations for June.

Maintenance isn't going around all day checking for water leaks in the park. They're doing necessary maintenance in the parks and attractions. Disney didn't just shut everything down when they closed the parks and it's not going to be like a seasonal park opening from the winter.

Wasn’t it reported that only 200 employees were kept on property? That is a minuscule work force relative to the size of the property. How many resorts are there? 16? Plus 4 parks. Plus 2 water parks. You figure a bulk of that 200 is security or things like animal care at DAK, AKL and Seas. I think any work being done is bare minimum. Think of how many landscaping CMs you might see just at your resort when you go get coffee in the morning.

And you know it was ride engineers that were kept on how?

More likely general purpose maintenance guys were kept on and specialised guys furloughed.
I have never assumed they were there. I dont work there so i'm not gonna say it isnt being done

Same here - no TS, masks ( we are booked for july) and no fireworks ( I can deal w no parades) and we would cancel
Shows how different we all are. I couldn’t care less if there wasn’t a single table service available. Masks, I’d prefer not, but I’ll do them. It’s fireworks, shows and all parks open ( can live without Epcot) that matters to me. Anything other than those and our trip is on.

I'd be ok with that

I don’t think either will do much in advertising their reopening. They’re not going to want people to rush out to get any fix of Disney/Universal they need. Once they’re open and people find out, there wont be much they can do to deter the masses, but they can at least somewhat control it by not making a big deal about reopening.

they’ll announce it. Watch.

And see - we would go nuts without Epcot ! 😁

I also could live without Epcot, and fireworks wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. We don't really do characters anymore, but it's always neat to see them as we are walking and that would take away from the experience. We do like table service meals though, and typically make ADRs for one meal a day. And if there's not TS meals I'm not sure how they would feed everyone--if the restaurants are at limited capacity just having a few QS places open would make it tough and seems like lead to super long waits to get served.

Normally that’s true for us too. But right now it’s a wasteland of unfinished construction so I could live without it. I’d prefer to be there, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
World showcase is pretty much untouched other than the France construction in the back. Epcot is my least favorite park and I only go for WS, so the front construction doesn't really affect me

Can confirm. In January the construction in Epcot made it our least liked park. And we are in our 20's! Which I feel like is a big targeted age for that park. I wouldn't miss it in its current state.

Same here. We were really hoping that Ratatouille and Space 220 would be open this year. Without those and all of the other construction issues, we could live without it for one trip. I prefer Epcot during Food and Wine Festival anyway.
