Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I also could live without Epcot, and fireworks wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. We don't really do characters anymore, but it's always neat to see them as we are walking and that would take away from the experience. We do like table service meals though, and typically make ADRs for one meal a day. And if there's not TS meals I'm not sure how they would feed everyone--if the restaurants are at limited capacity just having a few QS places open would make it tough and seems like lead to super long waits to get served.
This is exactly how I feel, and we have some really good TS dining planned for our July trip, and it TS is closed we're canceling. There is already too much demand for a lot of QS (especially at MK) with the TS places operating, I can only imagine how bad it would be even with limited park capacity. Waiting a long time to order food, or even a long time waiting for your mobile order, and then you have the trouble of finding a place to seat. Put in to effect less seating due to social distancing protocols and it's just a nightmare. It's so easy for TS restaurants to take some tables out and limist ADRs, but the QS can become a nightmare super fast and I don't want to deal with that.

It probably has been mentioned before but what if they opened each park as a sort of after hours hard ticketed daily event. They could control the crowd size easier and price the ticket to make it profitable to them. If I’m late to game posting this I’m sorry

I don’t think they’ll need to even do that. Even at 25% capacity you can fit 80k people between the 4 parks. I don’t think they’ll have too much of a capacity issue the first few weeks of operation. They’ll probably have a healthy medium between people that will be there day 1 no matter what, and people that absolutely wont go to the parks right away.

Have a hard time thinking TS would not be open when I am sitting here watching them talk about the restaurants already being open around North and Central Florida. Just showed them closing streets in Tampa so the restaurants can add tables (all at least 6' apart) out into parking lots and the street to get close to the same number of people as before. Showed inside some restaurants as well.

Can you summarise please? the link is blocked in the uk.

It’s a video of a very quiet MK, AK & HS. The reporter narrates as a helicopter shoots video.

There’s a brief shot of that same maintenance man power washing Toy Story Land.. 😆 I’m guessing the vid was shot a week or so ago then time in post production to edit.

A fluff piece but it’s still nice to get that little peek into the place so many are missing.

I absolutely think they find a way to make TS work if they’re comfortable opening the parks. And the flip side, if they don’t feel they can work TS safely I question how they can handle the more complicated aspects of the parks opening (I don’t think this is the case, for the record).

I think we’ll probably see buffets changed to CM served, family style, or menu ordering, and some restaurants may get shut down for reasons like lack of demand, but I can’t see TS being shuttered all together at this point.

This exactly! I believe pools, (chlorine and/or sunlight kills it!) restaurants, rides, lines, can all be accommodated using safety guidelines. My biggest worry will be people who come right up to you as they push past you to get ahead. I think there should be a "rudeness test" to see who is allowed back into the parks when they open, lol!

How do virtual queues actually work? I mean I’ve studied how to do the one for RotR (was all ready to tackle this til our May trip got canceled) but how would it work across all the rides in a park? I think people talk about DL using something like this but I’ve never been

Normally that’s true for us too. But right now it’s a wasteland of unfinished construction so I could live without it. I’d prefer to be there, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

I guess WS Is what I would miss - I would be ok without Future World

I didn’t say they should do away with it, I just don’t care if they do. lol I
Outside of Satuli, and it’s not table service, there’s not a single place I care if I ever eat at again. I would literally cry if Satuli was closed though.

Unknown. The only thing close to it is RotR BGs, how they will change that or add other rides is completely unknown. DL has MaxPass which is simply FP you book on your phone day of and you don't get to pick a time, it's whatever is available as if you were pulling from a machine. So, feel free to speculate on what you think it will look like- most of us have!

I'm curious how the ROTR boarding pass system will work going forward. Being in the group racing to get in the gates at 6am with 5,000 people isnt gonna work now. Anyone have any ideas on that?
