I am normally just a lurker on these threads but decided I could not hold back any more.
My biggest pet peeves are the people that have that sense of entitlement. You know, I spent a lot of money so I/my kid can do whatever I/they want. Guess what, we're all at Disney and trust me, we all spent a lot of money to be there.
One time, my friends and I were first at the doors as they opened them to take our seats at Country Bear. We didn't rush or push to get there, just happened to walk in as they had just closed for a show. When the doors opened, wewalked in and a family behind us shoved their way to get to the seats in front of us. Not a problem, I've conditioned myself to just wait and let them go. However, the little boy who was about 8 or 9 yo ran right smack into my elbow. I stopped and asked him if he was alright and the mother started screaming that I had hit her baby and what a B I was that I had to run over her family to get a seat.
I pointed out to her that our entire group of four was still in front of all of her family except this little boy that had shoved ahead. He was the line cutter. After mutiple nasty things she said to me I looked at her and asked her was this really the example she wanted to set for her children?
Another time, a family of 4 boys and 6 adults thought they would sneak their way in front of us while we were in line for Soarin'. Didn't work though as I saw what they were doing and my husband of 25 years and I linked arms standing side by side blocking their way. To anyone looking at us, we looked like sweeties!
But my number 1 pet peeve is someone who thinks they're above the rules of the parks.
Amen, sister!
Probably because saying something to the offender might make matters worse, if the offender doesn't take the message well; and most of the time they don't. Lots of nasty verbal confrontations begin this way, making matters even worse than before.
If someone is allowing their child to urinate in public I am saying something--it doesn't have to be rude--even something as simple as--do you know that the public restroom is right there? (This actually happened to me this weekend.) We are not animals.
