RP vs Portofino for a Meetup

I have booked rooms at both resorts because we were unsure of how many of us there would be. We will be attending the OI Meetup Dec 13/14. Looking for which is the best option for this. We would like to be close to the parks and have limited extra walking. In the past I have stayed at HR for this but they didn't offer any discounted rooms for this date . Share your thoughts...Thanks!

Royal Pacific is closer to the parks than Portofino.

I'm not great with judging distances, but I'd guesstimate that RPR is about equidistant to IOA as Hard Rock is to USF.

Royal Pacific is closer to IoA side . Maybe like a 10 minute walk. I normally take the boat if I going or coming back from Studios . Portofino is further out plus they are doing construction.

RP is definitely closer than PB but you could always take the boat. Personally PB is my favorite resort and the rooms are a bit larger which could be helpful depending how many people are staying with you just be sure to check out the bathroom layouts some do not have a separate sink area like the other resorts do. I like the food choices at PB the best also, but there is on-going construction happening. Just read that Islands Dining Room at RP will be closing sometime this fall/winter if that is a factor for you. Check out the hotel stickies for the latest !!
