router for wireless

I got tons of good advice when trying to help my DD decide if she should get a pc or iMac. Well, she went with the Mac. Now she would like a router so she can use it wireless in the house. She won't be doing any gaming, and youtube will probably be the extent of video. Any suggestion what I should look for? We have a high speed internet connection through Roadrunner. Thanks.

We used a router for years it was a netgear good one.

But we now have a T1 setup and we are behind the ISP router so we now use a Linksys 5-Port Ethernet Switch real easy to install and setup.

And only cost 14.99 at bestbuy.

The router (cause I do a ton of gaming) was around $300.00

But the little switch we have works great it runs 4 pcs off it and no lag at all playing online and also it has a built-in uplink for expansion.

In addition to the wireless, it has 4 wired Ethernet ports. I've had mine for about 18 months and never had a whisper of trouble from it. It wss easy to set up and configure, and normally retails for less than $40 at common places like Best Buy, Office Depot, and Circuit City.

I had a linksys router and I hated it!!! I had to update it all the time change the passwords all the time, any time it came unplugged I would have to start all over at the beginning. My kids also play toontown and it was always disconnecting them.
I just got a new mac book and also got the airport wireless extreme with it and I love it. It took 15min to set up all the computers(macs), printer, and back-up. Very easy and no call to the help line . The good thing about it is that it updates automatically for me.
