I am 17 weeks pregnant, and now I have something called "round ligament pain" according to my OB. Oh my goodness, this hurts! Has anyone else out there had this, and how long did it last for? I never had this during my first pregnancy. My OB's office told me that all I could do for it was to rest and take Tylenol, too:confused3

I had this with all three of my pregnancies. While it can be very painful, one thing that helped me was to move a little bit slower. I would normally have them when getting up from sitting or turning in a certain way. If I would just get up slower and not make movements so fast, they would be minimal. They lasted a long time for me....but were stronger the bigger I got. I had fairly large babies so my OB said that contributed to them as well. I don't know how true that it but it's what we were told.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!! :flower3:

I ended up going to hospital for it when I was about 5 months along, because the pain was so unbearable (I didn't know it was ligaments at the time...I thought there was something wrong). It didn't last long. 2-3 months maybe...and not very often at all. (the time in the hospital was the end of it...figures ;) )

Mine started super early... somewhere around 10 weeks or so. It was so bad at 13 weeks when they used the doppler on me that I was flinching in pain. I think it ended for me somewhere around 25 weeks. After then I might have a stretching pain off and on, but no where near as painful or long lasting as what I had earlier on. Of course I ended up with a small baby so I don't know if that is why it stopped for me ;)

I had it w/ #2 & 3.
It peaked around 4/5 months and lasted about a month & it was pretty painful.
I know that pushing anything, a shopping cart or stroller made it MUCH worse!
Try to relax, it was the worst w/ my third but after it passed I had a really great pregnancy.:goodvibes

I had it, too, and it was awful. I called the midwives more about that than anything else. I was certain something was terribly wrong with the baby, or that my appendix was flaring up, or something. I could not believe that pain was something as simple as ligaments.

I finally got a maternity belt for support, which helped some.

Good luck!

I had it so bad that my doctor thought that I had an etopic pregnancy. He sent me in for an ultra-sound at eight weeks and that's how I found out that I was carrying twins.

The first time it happened to me, during my first pregnancy, I though my side was splitting open!! It hurt so bad. I called my doctor's office and they assured me I would survive. I had a little bit of it with pregnancy #2 but not nearly as bad. I'm half way through pregnancy #3--I'm pretty sure all my ligaments popped long ago;) Every once in awhile I feel a quick pain, but nothing like that first time. I remember propping myself in bed for the rest of the day and being afraid to move.

Good luck, this too shall pass :goodvibes

Yes, I had them around 4 to 5 months. It hurt so bad, you have my sympathy!

It will pass soon :)
