Watched it again and am now even more baffled by the criticism the female protagonist is just like Rey. I don't see that much in common (beyond white female). I don't recall Rey being particularly rebellious or undisciplined which is what they are stressing here.

Part of what made Rey interesting as a character is that despite having lived a pretty hard-scrabble existence, she's clearly very balanced and self-possessed. I think that's probably a key plot point going forward, since the Skywalkers were always on the verge of having a temper tantrum. Rogue is very clearly a different character, and at least in the Star Wars universe, a new character[1].
