This has been a totally rotten week. Every two years the local women's club puts on a show called the Red Stocking Revue. They get people from the community to sign up and perform. Sometimes they get some of the local dance schools and local celebrities to also perform.
After not having done the last two Revue's, I decided to do this year's. I was going to be in two kicklines and a tap number. The performances were last night and tonight. Tuesday morning I was coming back in the house after starting my car and my shoes were a little wet, I slipped on my ceramic tile and twisted my ankle and foot. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and I am in a brace for two weeks, total healing time 4 1/2 weeks. Needless to say, no performing in the Red Stocking Revue, plus no performing with my Irish Dance group for St Patrick's Day.
Tuesday night, my best friend (and regular dance teacher) calls to say that her stepfather passed away.
Last night I went to the Red Stocking Revue performance with my DD & good friend. I have been having a little tickle in my throat and it was a little hoarse.
Today, I have absolutely no voice whatsoever and I had planned on going to the Cast party tonight after the show.
This week has gone from bad to worse. Tomorrow I have to go to the viewing for my friend's stepfather. The funeral is on Monday. At work, Tuesday, we are having a retirement luncheon for one of our co-workers. But guess who probably will not be able to make it.
Thanks for letting me vent, since I can't talk to anyone here at home. I am very frustrated with not being able to talk. This happened last year to me too. But then I found out that not only did I have laryngitits, but walking pneumonia too. I was off work for a week.
