I think the argument was Elizabeth refused to publically defend her friend when questioned by Fox News. When pressed, she reluctantly admitted on The View that Rosie does not think the troops are terrorists, BUT she also throws in the part about the 650,000 dead Iraqis. Why not just say, "no, Rosie, I know you don't think the troops are terrorists" without any other stipulation

She certainly was reluctant to go to bat for her "friend" Rosie when her friends at Fox News were calling her a hate mongering troop hater now wasn't she? I'd say she only reluctantly admitted to believing Rosie doesn't really think the troops are terrorists (and not without a stipulation that what Rosie said about the dead Iraqis) after Rosie pressed her on it on The View.

I did like Elizabeth up until this point because I thought she was the type of person who really could see both sides of an issue. Now I'm not so sure. She may very well be one of those who thinks those who are anti-war are anti-American. Goodness knows there are plenty of people like that on the DIS boards (but only a few have the cajones to admit it).

There is some spin going on..surprise! It was on Monday that EH refused to answer Rosie as to whether she thinks the troops are terrorists. That is why Rosie was furious...By Wednesday fox news et al had spread it all over that she said they were, and EH, new spokes person for the religious right, never once defended her. By Wednesday it was over.

no matter what I like Rosie. Still haven't figured out what Liz is famous for other than being on survivor. There is just something about Liz that I just don't like can't put my finger on it. I watched today to see what kind of spin BW put on it and of course she did. Did she say whether she talked to Rosie or not I sorta missed some of it. I know alot of people aren't going to watch it now and I probably won't either. I will say that whomever they hire better keep the show going cause Rosie raised it to a whole different standard and the bar is up, interesting to see what will happen now.

I am glad Rosie is gone. I loved her old show, use to buy the magazine, but like other posters, Rosie seems to pack up her toys and go home when she doesn't get her way.

Rosie has changed, and I don't like what she has become. However I am by no means an Elizabeth fan! Elizabeth doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb in the lot and doesn't always seem to have a good grasp of the topics being discussed.

Like others, I doubt the View will last much longer.

Because the follow up point is an important question.

If she thinks the USA is responsible for the supposed 650,000 dead, what does she think about our troops? Liberators, invaders, terrorists?

She thinks the troops are following the orders of an adminstration that does not have their or our best interests at heart.

She thinks the Iraqi people consider all of us "Americans" to be responsible.

So? She thinks the US government is responsible for all the innocent lives that have been snuffed out in Iraq, whether its 65,000 or 650,000. That has no impact on what she feels about our troops, who are only doing the job they are ordered to do. And she has pointed out more than once that we aren't killing near as many terrorists as we are innocent people.

I can't believe any intelligent person can't make the distinction between anti war and anti troops. As someone pointed out upthread, do the conservatives on this board actually think most liberals (including Rosie) are seriously anti troops? If so, that is just sad.

It is all a matter of opinion. Everyone has one, or more. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is wrong or just plain different from someone else's.

The only thing wrong is when we do not allow others to think as they wish or are not allowed to think as we wish. We are fighting a war to give others the right to freedom of thought and it should begin here, at home. IMO

The View is about opinions. I do not totally agree with anyone on there nor do I totally disagree. I think many of the 'facts' are in question but then what do I know, I am not privy to inside information. I do not believe anything I hear and only half of what I see. I like to hear all POV and then ponder it and come up with my own opinions, based on my life experiences and whatever information I have gleaned and how I took it to mean.

If we do not allow other people to think as they wish (excepting if they are hurting someone) it is dangerous. Heaven knows, it COULD lead to a war or something!

I am against censorship. Let everyone have at it. I have a remote and am fully able to choose what I want to watch or not. Ratings go up, ratings go down. Gold rules, has ever been thus.

Who is the enemy? I thought "the enemy" would be the ones responsible for 9/11. How did Iraq 'become' our enemy. Iraq was 'our friend'. I have an old history book of Saddam and Ronald Reagan shaking heads all smiles and giggles. According to history it was Iran that was 'our enemy' - although we did support them both (with weapons) while they fought each other. Just curious to who 'the enemy' is and how they became 'the enemy'.

What happened on the View was as predictable as what happened with Rosie on her own talk show. She goes to far. She is talented and opinionated. I like that. I watched her, I enjoyed watching her. Especially her enthusiasim for Broadway. The politics just became too much. I was getting to the point of "who cares". Some of her "views" I shared..some I didn't. She was not tolerant of anyone elses view or respectful of it. You can dissagree with someone politically and still be civil, and even friends. It's done everyday. Rosie goes to far, and she alienates even the people who share her "view". I am opposed to the war also..but her manner was nasty. she over powered almost every conversation, it was becoming irritating. Too bad..I bet Trump is laughing his butt off now. Idiot that he is.
