No one here is anti-soldier. I have not even met 1 person in my life who is anti-soldier.

Well then let's SHOW them we support them; they believe in why they are there. We should show them we believe in it too. We don't have to agree with the reasons for going in the first place, but we should support them for their beliefs and sacrifices for being there. I'd be curious to know what the soldiers think of Rosie and views.

Roise was not fighting for politics. She is trying to save the lives of our boys in Iraq. She is trying to save the lives of innocent men, woman & children. Bush went against the UN & invaded a Sovereign nation who did NOTHING to the USA. He is a criminal & will be grouped with the others in History.

Why isn't she trying to save the lives of the innocent baby’s aborted everyday!!!!!! I am sick everyday over the lives that are lost in Iraq but equally as sick over the innocent babies killed. Seems to me Rosie is a little hypocritical in her views!!!!

Amen to that! not to hijack this thread, but far more innocent lives are taken through abortion than all the wars combined. EH is pro-life so i'm sure Rosie is the opposite.

Sorry, but you can be anti-abortion and be an athiest just as you can be against murder and be an athiest. It's a moral issue, not a religious issue.

Anyways, I'm stepping out of this because my son happens to be a soldier, in fact he enlisted after we went to war with Iraq so I'm very proud of him and these type of discussions really bother me because the way some people talk seem anti-soldier and thats disheartning to me.

Do you really believe you would grieve, if you had a miscarriage, the same as if your son and daughter you held in your arms lost their life? Rubbish.

Rosie visits the injured troops and donates thousands to their recovery. She has said they have never been anything but grateful for her visits. What have you done? How much effort did it take to slap your yellow ribbon on your car? I know there are SOME here who actually spend time comforting our men and woman torn apart by this war, ( to those people, whether I agree with this war or not, I commend you) most provide nothing but lip service.

There is no way I could say that I believe in why they are there. They made a choice and I respect that, and I think the soldiers should be supported, someone should tell that to Bush who sent them over there without proper equipment.

I was against this war before it started. Bush did not listen to the people who said if we break it we have to fix it, and the cost of fixing it is being paid with the lives of our brave soldiers. I will never believe in the war.

But it wasn't a simple comment. You were comparing the lives of soldiers with the unborn. I think it is called distraction, stick to the topic at hand and start another thread about abortion and war deaths.

Just like everyone else there are some that love her, some that hate her. That is the case with the enlisted men and women I know at least. A few of them who are either in Iraq now or have been already in this war LOVE that she is speaking out. They don't believe in why we are there fighting, but they do it because it is their job. A few think she is horrible for her anti-war comments.

I still say it is incredibly disheartening to me that so many in this society can not comprehend how it is possible to be against this war but still support our troops. They did not make the decision to be there. Being there isn't their fault and we fully appreciate the fact that they put their lives on the line each and every day they are there. I appreciate their dedication and service to our country being prepared to fight where ever our government sends them but that does not mean that I think our continued occupation of Iraq is right.

You have no idea how I would feel about a miscarriage and really it is none of you concern. I am not going to debate abortion with any of you. Ifeel a certain way and will not change. What I have a done for the troops? Well my husband has been deployed several times, I have run FRG groups during deployments, worked getting packages and popcorn machines to units, sat with friends for after receiving word of causality, helped plan redeployment ceremonies and welcome home functions and my list goes on. Let me tell you something this war is part of my daily life because of my husband’s job. Everyday I wonder if the orders have come down for a deployment. I am constantly seeing friends off as they leave for Iraq. I can not even plan a freaking vacation for next summer because I do not know if my DH will be here or not. How about you!!!! You are so quick to judge people on here who do not agree with you. I have read several of your post and quite frankly I am not impressed!!!!!

I never said you did.

All I said was that if it is hypocritical of Rosie to be upset over the death of soldiers or innocent Iraqis but not be upset about abortions, then by the same token anyone, including Elisabeth, who is pro-choice but also pro-death penalty is also hypocritical.

It's all relative, isn't it? I'm pro-choice though for me, personally, I couldn't have an abortion. That's my choice but making abortion illigal isn't going to stop it and I'd rather not see a return to the days of the coat hanger abortion.
