Roseanne (old sitcom, not the person)

-When Becky "Cut the cheese" in class:rotfl2:
-Dan or Rosanned found pot in the basement and smoked it with Jackie:lmao:

Those are two that when we see them come on in this house, everyone tunes in!

Especially the pot episode. . the whole thing about how DJ's name sounds weird. "Deeeee J. Deeeee J." Or when DJ knocked on the door and Jackie yells "the jig is up!" and shuts the shower curtain. We quote both of those ones regularly.

You can't NOT laugh at that one.

Also, was I the only one who got a little mad at the show's hairstylists? Becky, (the first actress who played her - Lecy Goranson), had this really beautiful long hair in season 3, then she chops it all off into a mushroom and shaves the rest. Okay, fine, one bad haircut. Then she comes in season 4 with a bob that grows out, and I started to think hey, well she's gonna have long hair again. Then it's short again in season 5, she leaves (Becky #2 always had long hair), and when she comes back in season 8, it's long, THEN SHE CUTS IT AGAIN! AAARRGH lol.

That was Lecy Goranson's choice. She went to Roseanne to ask if she could cut it and Roseanne said yes.

How about the episode when at some point everyone wears that chicken/egg shirt.:rotfl:

It's one of my favorites! And that pattern was made into an apron at the diner, a poster on the wall, and it's in every (or almost every) episode- either she wears it or it's in the laundry. And all because Tom Arnold didn't like it! She didn't wear it while they were married, but once they were divorced, she used it every chance she could!:lmao:

That shirt was kind of a running joke. If you watch the old ones, it shows up in many episodes.

I love Roseanne and watch all the reruns. I have 4 seasons on DVD. One of my FAVORITE all time scenes is when Roseanne leaves the house during the Super Bowl and Bev is there with Dan, Jackie, and Fred. Bev is in AA and Roseanne told Dan he couldn't have beer in the house--but he has a keg in the garage. Dan, Jackie and Fred go in the garage and get smashed while watching the game. I think its Fred that suggests they should go back inside and Jackie says:

NO!! We can't go back in there, SHE'S in there. Bev, non-alcoholic BEVERAGE is in there!

Then Bev comes to the garage and they all try to act sober, but Bev figures it out and Jackie goes into one of her fits: "DAMN, DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!

I crack up every time.

DS11 LOVES the Disney episode. Don't know why--its not that great, but it really DATES the show. Pooh looks so different and the Skyway is still there. Plus there is only MK and Epcot. Classic!!!!

Its an awesome show and I wasn't betrayed by the lottery at all. I think it was really creative and the very last show makes me cry everytime. Roseanne sitting in the basement, finishing her book and when she comes back upstairs, its the original set--couch afghan and all. LOVE IT!!!

Well that accounts for the first haircut but after that, I have no clue why she kept doing it again. Some people have great hair they shouldn't mess with.

My sister for example, had really pretty, long (mid-back length) brown hair. She bleached it blonde and cut it up to her chin. I was horrified. It's long again, but still blonde. She just doesn't look as beautiful with blonde hair. She insists her hair was "always blonde" just because it had a few blonde tones. I miss her old hair :(

True the Disney episode feels dated, but I still loved seeing them in Disney world.

One scene that looks the same today is when Darlene is near Big Thunder mountain. If you set her in the same bench today it would look exactly the same. At least one scene isn't dated!

one of the gossip magazines had an update in it last week. I had no idea that the actor who played Mark (Beckys DH) had died of a drug overdose or that Jackie (in real life) had married the actor who played the boyfriend who abused her Fisher.

I loved the episode when they went to WDW! Everytime I see that clip of them on Main Street waiting at the rope drop... I crack up! They play a pretty version of "when you wish upon a star" while the whole family takes off running and pushing with the masses all the way up Main Street!:rotfl:

None of the cast ever really want to talk about it, but it's true.

I knew about Mark-it makes me really sad. Glenn O'Quinn I think. I can't believe it when I watch that show that he's gone. I had NO IDEA about Laurie Metcalf marrying Fischer!!!! That's so weird!!!

Yes unfortunately, Mark (Glenn Quinn) died in 2002. You'll all know I'm gay because I thought he was pretty darn cute!

Glenn Quinn was working on the series Angel and was "let go" because of on-going drug problems less than half way through the first season. He overdosed not long after. It was never a major headline because he was never one of the "big players" on any show, and the circumstances of his death, but it made some waves in the fans of Angel.

Yup, sorry, got the two names mixed up! It was Glenn Quinn.

I knew Laurie Metcalf married one of the boyfriends from the show, but I couldn't remember who. I loved Fisher up until that part of the show, then I of course loved the interaction between Darlene and Dan when he was in jail for beating Fisher up.
Dan: I don't have time for this.
Darlene: Oh, I think you do.
:rotfl2:

Could've sworn David = Johnny Galecki and Mark = Glenn Quinn. Hmm, maybe I'm wrong?

Gosh I loved this show. It got a little too weird in the end though.

One of my favorite lines was when Jackie & Roseanne were talking about Jackies love life. Jackie said something about wanting a guy like Dan and Roseanne responded "What do you think, he came out of a box like that?" "I had to put in a lot of hours to train him like that. " Something to that effect-- I use it when describing my dh & ds.

I think my all time favorite one was when Bev broke her hip & was blaming it on Dan when the boyfriend told the truth.

I also loved when Bev's mother visited--anytime.

I watched it when it was on originally and I watched it on Nick@Nite when I was up in the middle of the night with DD1. I think I've seen every episode. Some of the funniest:

-When Becky "Cut the cheese" in class:rotfl2:
-Dan or Rosanned found pot in the basement and smoked it with Jackie:lmao:
-When DJ reached puberty and spent lots of time in the bathroom:blush:

The last season was so bad, I'd like to just forget it ever happened.

OMG, I would love to see that pot episode again!!! So so funny!! :lmao: What season was that, anyone remember? I bet I can get it from netflix!

God-I LOVE the old Roseanne show!
I watch it on Nick at Night all the time.
The earlier season are my favorites. I really didnt like the last year, but did like the finale.
Some of my favorite lines:

The WDW episode when Roseanne is trying get Dan to guess where she wants to go:
Roseanne-"Two hints-Florida and the happiest place on earth..."
Dan-"we're going to Gatorworld!"
Roseanne-"no you idiot, Disneyworld!"

Dan is hesitant at first and then estactic when Roseanne explains that Epcot has something called a "Beer-Garden"
Love it also when they are the plane and are being so white-trash! Roseanne finds her way up to 1st class and says its just like Supercuts because of the comfy seats and good magazines.

A Mother's Day episode when Dan buys Roseanne an ugly polyester robe. Jackie feels it and says "It feels flame-retardent" and Roseanne replies
"It's WAY-retardent."

Episode where Dan and Roseanne are called to DJ's school and the teacher says DJ falling behind and she wants to put him in "the Explorer class". Dan argues with Roseanne in front of the teacher because Roseanne never lets him make parenting decisions. He storms out of the classroom and Roseanne tells the teacher "that's what I get for marrying an Explorer."

That show was just too funny!

Well-

The last season is "fictional". Roseanne was writing a book. It's explained in the finale that the entire final season did not "really" happen.

In the 9th season, we are led to think Dan (her husband) cheated on her, but in reality, outside of the book, he died of his heart attack that we saw in the end of s.8.

I absolutely HATED the way they ended the series. It kind of ruined the whole thing for me. I loved the show, but the finale was such a cop out. :sad2:

Yep. I named my cat after his character on Angel! He was awesome and had so much potential. He could have been a major name nowadays had he laid off the drugs.
