Roseanne (old sitcom, not the person)

I absolutely HATED the way they ended the series. It kind of ruined the whole thing for me. I loved the show, but the finale was such a cop out. :sad2:

I feel the same way. I have a hard time watching reruns of it just for that reason, I always think back to the way it ended.

Another favorite one was a Christmas episode when Roseanne, Jackie and Bev were arguing about whether there was a heaven or not.
Sick of the fight, Jackie moans "Why are we talking all about God and heaven...(sigh) it's Christmas!"

OMG, I would love to see that pot episode again!!! So so funny!! :lmao: What season was that, anyone remember? I bet I can get it from netflix!

I think it's season 6. Becky wasn't there, and I think Jackie was pregnant. So yes, season 6, probably early to middle.

This is one of my favorite shows. I watch the reruns all the time. I like the episode when Jackie leaves Andy with Roseanne, and when she picks him up she finds out that Roseanne didn't follow her list. I wish I could remember what Jackie called Roseanne and her family, something like oreo eater, trailer trash,..........:rotfl2:

I like when the old Becky came back and Roseanne said "where have you been?"

And then when they went to WDW Roseanne said to the new Becky something like aren't you glad you are here this week?

LOL!

Oh yeah, Jackie flipped out. I didn't like how, by then, Jackie was borderline crazy, not really as beliveable anymore.

However it was hilarious.

"Oreo eatin...trailer trash...look how your kids turned out!" I also loved the confrontational "ooh's" from the laugh track! LOL

:rotfl2: I loved the where have you been?
My favorite line was when Jackie was pregnant and overdue. She was freaking out
"I have a 3 day old child in me!"
Last night I was watching when George Clooney was on! remember Booker?

Yeah, when Becky first came back it was hilarious. "Where have you been? Feels like you've been gone 3 years!" LOL.

I was relieved to see her return. Didn't like Fake Becky much!

Isn't Fake Becky on Scrubs now?

I just read through this whole thread, I never knew that the actor who played Mark is dead!! How sad! :( I also didn't know that Laurie Metcalfe married Fisher -- for some reason I thought I remembered reading she was gay? Guess not! :confused3

Fake Becky is on Scrubs yes. Ironically, the "second rate" Becky ended up being more famous!

Laurie Metcalf isn't gay. Her character Jackie was revealed to be gay at the very end. And with that short short haircut it was definetly easy to believe!

I'm so happy others like this show as much as I do!!!

I find that more people (at least the people I grew up with) live the way the Conners do than the people on most sitcoms. Darlene was always my favorite. And, while the last season was weird, I still cry during the finale when she's talking about Dan...Oh! And the one where David and Darlene's baby might die and Dan is talking to David in the hospital hallway...:sad1:

Here's something you might not know...John Goodman is a classicly trained actor and he really hadn't done any comedy...you'd never know that from his awesome comic timing!!:thumbsup2

I think I might have mixed her up w/her character. Or maybe its Sara Gilbert who is gay? Someone on that show came out of the closet, I thought. :confused3

Oh, I just looked up Glenn Quinn. Did you know he was Irish and had to fake an American accent for Roseanne in his role of Mark? He was a pretty good actor, considering that!!! ANd with smoldering good looks. What a shame he died so tragically. :(

I thought I heard it was Johnny Galecki (David).

Sara Gilbert is indeed gay. I'm not sure when she came out, it may have been after 1997 when the show ended.

Glenn Quinn was very very cute, but I guess he got messed up down the wrong drug path. Yeah, I knew about the fake accent but it's really amazing. You can never detect a HINT of Irish in his voice on the show!

As far as I know, Johnny Galecki is still alive. Although, he looks a little raggy these days I must say.

I know aging is expected but boy you'd think the show ended 20 years ago!

I saw the first Becky on a Sex and the City rerun the other day. Its the one where Charlotte and Harry are adopting, and are looking into a adopting from the US. The birth mother who decides first to allow Charlotte and Harry to adopt her baby, but then changes her mind, is the first Becky! It was driving me NUTS trying to figure out who she was and it finally dawned on me at the end of the episode.

I should try to watch that online. When you saw the first Becky, did she have short hair or long? Always wondering if she's still going through those phases! LOL

Her hair was still short and dorky. :lmao: Poor thing needs to fire her stylist. :lmao: She was really good in this role tho, she was a good actress. All the kids on that show were, except for D.J. who was so bad he was good. :lmao:
