Roseanne (old sitcom, not the person)

Her hair was still short and dorky. :lmao: Poor thing needs to fire her stylist. :lmao: She was really good in this role tho, she was a good actress. All the kids on that show were, except for D.J. who was so bad he was good. :lmao:

God, why do they keep cutting off that hair? Does she like looking like a teenaged boy with a short haircut? Seriously...:confused3

Well in this particular role, she was playing a real hick, a backwards sort of girl from the backwoods. :lmao: So it sort of fit, IIRC. :lmao:

Is that right? I wouldn't be surprised. He is a cutie, that is for sure! :thumbsup2

Must have just been a rumor I heard. I googled him and nothing turned up about him being gay IRL. He has played some gay characters though.

Are Angel fans the only ones who spotted the accent? Had no clue Mark was actually Irish

Miss a lot when you have to run errands!

Sara Gilbert is gay IRL. She has an adorable son with her partner, Allison Adler.
And now she's on ER every once in a while. It's great to see her back on screen.
The second Becky- Sarah Chalke, plays Elliot on Scrubs. Another great show, too bad it's in it's last season (according to sources).

And I saw that episode of Sex and the City! Her hair was much worse than it ever was on Roseanne.

I always found it interesting that British actors (including Ireland) and Australians can do such good American accents. Hugh Laurie, Nicole Kidman, Toni Colette etc. but I can always spot an American trying to "do" British.

I loved all of the Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes. There is one season where everything just went way wrong at Thanksgiving and Roseanne goes to clean up and she stares at the eaten turkey and it's all bones and meat and the voiceover of Roseanne comes on and it says, "You look how I feel." I can't tell you how many holidays that I've related to that.

I loved the episode where Becky cut the cheese.

And the episode when Darleen's baby was born pre-mature. I know it takes place after the lottery win but I really enjoyed how the family bonded together for the baby.

I've read rumors that the character of Doyle (Glenn's character) was not supposed to be Irish. But after having to use fake accents for so long, he got Joss Whedon (the creator of both Buffy and Angel) to allow the character to be Irish so Glenn wouldn't have to use another accent again. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but kind of interesting.

No offense to David Boreanaz but he could have taken a lesson or two from Glenn to speak with an irish accent.

I loved Doyle. :(

I love David but you are totally right. His accent was horrible.

I still remember my jaw dropping when Doyle jumped in Hero.
:worried: :scared1:  :(

Another big fan of "Roseanne" here. Absolutely love the show and watch it every chance I get on Nick at Nite. I have Seasons 1-3 on DVD and will probably buy a couple more. I stopped liking it so much when the kids got older, and especially after they won the lottery. Pretty much stopped watching it completely then.

I always loved it when Dan was trying to do something and Roseanne would take over and say, "oh let me do it, it's easier" like when he was going to open a huge can of corn for dinner.

Loved it, I think it was the first season, when the kids were all being unruly and she just looked at them and said "this is why some animals eat their young", and when Darlene was having problems in school and Roseanne had to go in and talk to the teacher, the teacher said Darlene barks in class and Roseanne just looked at her and said "our whole family barks!" Loved that!!

So many great episodes, especially the early years.

I still watch Roseanne on Nick at Night :) So many of the episodes are funny! Of course I liked when they all went to WDW ;) The lady that played Bev, Roseanne and Jackies Mother, man she was pefect for that part!

Oh, and Sara Gilbert has a recurring role on the new sitcom "Class." She's not one of the stars of the show, but she has been in several episodes as Richie's wife.

I agree. I enjoyed the earlier Roseanne shows the most. When she won the lottery and the after I didn't much enjoy. I too watch it on NAN, and it's laugh out loud comedy. Some of the very early shows when Roseanne and Jackie worked in the factory were so funny!

Yes, yes! And "Booker" a.k.a. George Clooney! How about Crystal! What a basket case :goodvibes

The crappy hair may have been realistic but I hate when Jackie would grow her hair out and chop it; and Becky did the same thing.

Not sure that I can post this, but it's just a video link. This is the 8th season opening of Roseanne. If you watch Jackie "growing", I think she looks terrible in the last shot with short hair.

Luckily, Becky looks fine. The first picture shows Lecy, the original; then the fake Becky; then real Becky again. Thankfully Becky had not chopped her hair for the 100th time yet. :)

Does anyone know what the subject of the very first episode was about? Call me crazy, but recently I saw an early show and the little boy they were calling DJ, wasn't the normal DJ. Anyone else know what I am talking about????

I love Roseanne!

I used to watch it as a child on a Sunday evenings and always try to catch the repeats.

:yay:

I knew Laurie Metcalf married one of the boyfriends from the show, but I couldn't remember who. I loved Fisher up until that part of the show, then I of course loved the interaction between Darlene and Dan when he was in jail for beating Fisher up.
Dan: I don't have time for this.
Darlene: Oh, I think you do.
:rotfl2:

Me too!!! :lmao: Didn't Darlene walk in the cell where Dan was and say "well, well, well" or something hilarious :)

Does anyone besides me remember when David's name changed. It use to be Kevin, then they changed it to David.

Fake Becky is on Scrubs yes. Ironically, the "second rate" Becky ended up being more famous!

Laurie Metcalf isn't gay. Her character Jackie was revealed to be gay at the very end. And with that short short haircut it was definetly easy to believe!

Wow how did I miss that? I thought Bev was the one that later announced she was gay?
