When we tried booking it for Illuminations I think we shot for 30-45 minutes before.

I cannot say that R&C is a "must-do" on every trip, but it's on the list of "try and fit it in." (I missed it on our last trip, because I wanted to hit as many food & wine stands as possible, so I skipped on real meals and sampled a lot of different things.) I enjoy the food, but really enjoy the Guiness, so if nothing else, I always stop by the pub side for a pint or three. . .

This is a MUST for us next September as this is where we both used to work!!!

Very close to our hearts and I would have no problem in recommending this place for a meal. Best place to watch Illuminations from IMO

We have had wonderful meals at R&C over the years; but, unfortunately, the ones we had in February were the worse meals we have ever had at a TS restaurant. There was absolutely no fish under the coating and the warm apple crumble had only two slices of apples floating in water with no crumble and a tablespoon of ice cream. I don't know what happened but we will skip it this trip. Hopefully, it was just a bad night.

I would really love to try R&C but unfortunately I have a severe potato allergy and it looks like just about everything is served with potatoes or is deep fried and so could have cross-contamination. Has anyone had much success substituting sides at this restaurant?

I can't speak to whether the R&C is able to deal with potato allergy, but I have to say that a visit there finished off our holiday beautifully. The full story is in the latter part of this thread, but the staff were marvellous for our kids and we had a wonderful view of illuminations.

PS I would have liked it even more if they still were able to get in Magners, rather than Strongbow!

We go each trip!
We love the fish and chips someone in my group had lamb. and they said it was really good!
