We have been to Disney but are not usually morning people, as we are usually out late the night before. We have some general questions about what to expect. What time should we arrive? What is the best park to see the rope drop? What are the crowds like?? Any details or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Only MK has any kind of rope drop show anymore, somewhere around ten minutes before park open. I would get there about twenty to twenty-five minutes beforehand for a decent spot, but that's personal preference.

Crowds build at the holding area of course, but once released into the park you can expect the lightest crowds of the day for the first hour or two.

The only park that has an actual rope drop show anymore is Magic Kingdom. Rope drop has no primarily just become the Dis lingo for getting to the park when it opens.

Plan to be at the park and at the turnstiles about 15-30 before the announced park opening for Epcot and AK. DHS has been letting people into the park 15-30 minutes before the announced opening, so plan to be there even earlier than that.

Are you staying on site? I would suggest MK. If park opens at 9 am for general public go there on an EMH morning so that would be 8 am. I suggest getting there about 20-30 mins before 8 am to allow going through security/bag check. Make your way to the center on the area in front of the train station and flowers, so you have a birds eye view. Its a great photo op. At about 8-10 mins before 8 am you will here the MK train coming with Mickey and his friends... so exciting!!! Have fun!!
