Rope Drop MK on MVMCP Day

Hi everyone!

We are heading back to WDW for a last minute trip and are trying to decide when would be the best day to head to MK. Would rope Drop on EMH day or day of MVMCP be less busy? Is it noticeable less crowded before 4 on party days? We will not be attending the party and plan on doing early mornings, midday breaks, then evenings in parks. Thank you in advance!

Be at the gate about 30 to 45 minutes before rope drop on a non-party day. You should be able to get in the mine train and 2 other popular rides in the first hour. If you aren't interested in the mine train then you can do really well. After 2 hours, the crowd level will start to build. At 4PM there will be a noticeable increase in the crowds as the party goers storm the gate. My experience has been the the park is more crowded during the party than it is during the daytime hours before the party starts. We always do party days and then just go one evening to see the fireworks.

Do you have hoppers or you need a day where you can get as much done in one day as possible and only at MK? Do you tend to go all day until a certain time then quit for the day or do you go morning then take a break before returning?

We do have hoppers and we like to ride as many as we can, take a midday break, then decide where to go for the evening. Characters and 7DMT are not priorities to us.

I would do as above except maybe leave earlier than FoF. Bottom line, I think RD on a party day will be a great time to visit - I would do it myself except I'm not good at naps and I have to stay up for the party. So I will arrive at lunch time, after sleeping in, and stay through the party; which is exactly why rope drop for you should be brilliant...
After a few late night then sleep in days , my family will switch to early rising for RD for the rest of our trip. We will then RD at MK on a party day and hop to another park when ready. We think it will be great.

check park hours. they just added some 8am openings in Nov. One is on my party day, 11/18
