Room Upgrade

We have a bay view at PBH. Do they ever give free upgrades? Is it worth it to pay for an upgrade if available? And what are the best values for the upgrades?

what kind of upgrade are you talking about? club level, deluxe...

if the hotel is booked up, it might not happen for you.

We get there on the 26th for four nights. Its our first time so, I'm not totally sure what the upgrades are. I guess what I'm asking is what are the possible upgrades and are they worth paying for. It's me, DW, & 3 boys (13,9,7).

You could upgrade to a deluxe villa room which is larger and has a sofa bed since there are 5 in your family. The other upgrade would be to club level which gives your family access to the club lounge and services. It may be worth it for a family of five. It provides continental type breakfast, drinks throughout the day, appetizer type foods in the late afternoon/early evening with wine and beer served and then desserts a bit later in the evening. You can request an upgrade to club at check-in and if available, it costs $75. The convenience is worth it for my family. The bottled water and breakfast alone pays for itself as we take bottles with us to the parks and anywhere we go. We are not huge breakfast eaters either. This is an absolutely beautiful resort. Your family will have a wonderful time!

send them a letter in advance and let them know this is your first trip onsite.
ask them how is it possible to get an upgrade.

they fill the rooms about 3 days prior to your arrival date.

if they have an opening, maybe some mummy dust will fall your way for a first timer.

it has been known to happen.

I would call the hotel at least a few days in advance of your stay and ask for the Rooms Supervisor, either to speak to in person or get the email address. I have done this in the past, they have always been very helpful and will reply promptly.
