yes, you just have to have it added if it is still available!!

they allot only a certain number of rooms in each resort for a discount program, the availability of the discount is important. Last trip we had a reservation made with a AAA discount at POFQ. A room only discount came out a couple of months before our trip. We were not able to get this discount for POFQ because there were either few rooms allotted to this or none for the dates we were going. The discount was available for otehr moderate resorts though.

It is not automatic, you are in the same position as someone who does not have a reservation @ all. If you call and there are rooms/packages w/ the discount available you can reserve one and apply your funds from your prior reservation to the new deal. I believe I read, however, that you cannot do this if you are changing from a room only to a package and in that case you have to put a new deposit down and have your previous payments refunded to you.

You're right about the cancel the room only, rebook as a package. And it is NOT a quick process. They have to verify everyone's names & addresses, e-mails, ages, room preferences, etc...When rumors of a 4/3 started swirling a few years ago, I changed our rooms over to a package beforehand so it would be quicker to grab the deal. I knew the phones would be swamped and the rooms would be snapped up quickly.
