We just got back from a week in BCV Room 323. This is a non-smoking, dedicated 2BR. It overlooks the front entranceway, not the best view but quiet. It has a full balcony that runs the length of the LR and master bedroom ahs only windows. This worked well in our case, as there were two children under four in that room.
The room was clean and in relatively good repair on arrival. I used a packet of dishwasher detergent on the tub jets, but the water remained clean, which was a good sign. The previous occupants had smoked on the balcony as was evidenced by a cigarette butt and ashes scattered around. I kicked the butt off and let the rain take care of the ashes, which were just all over the place. Yuck!
We noticed that the padded seats on the bench for the dining room table were not secured and did wiggle around. One would lift right up, and there is a space under it, which a child hypothetically could get stuck in. (Recall a previous thread about a child that did get stuck, although Im still not exactly sure how that happened based on the previous posters description of the events.)
The strike plate on the second bathroom door was completely missing. The screws were poking out, but the metal plate had been removed. The two large burners didnt work on the stove, and during our stay two lights burned out. The stove was easily fixed by properly seating the burnerswe did this ourselves. A call to engineering brought replacement bulbs and a replacement strike plate. The gentleman that came from engineering made a comment that some people will steal anything from a hotel room, even if it IS nailed down. Pretty sad to think someone would steal a strike plate!
These rooms are definitely smaller then the ones at the BWV, and we noticed the difference on this trip with seven in the villa. The access to the closet in the second bedroom is much better than at the BWV, and having the toilet in a separate room from the shower in the master bath was also a time saver. We also LOVE the desk in the master BR, as DH and I both had to take care of some business while on vacation, this gave us a convenient and comfortable workspace.
One thing to notethere is not a safe in the second bedroom, so if there are two families in the villa as there was in our case, it can require a little more planning a far as access and space goes.
