Room only reservation... adding theme park tickets?

So I just booked a room only reservation through Disney- Pop Century at the mid/end of August. I just wasn't sure what to do about tickets yet. Haven't decided how many days we need or if we will get hoppers, etc. Is it an option to go back into my account at a later date and add tickets? What about a ticket price increase? Do we have any idea when that will happen? I was thinking that I would maybe purchase tickets somewhere else but was also wondering if there would be a possibility for free dining at that time. If free dining does happen, when is it usually announced and I would need to add tickets to my account, right?

Thanks in advance.

The only thing that I can add for certain, yes, if free dining comes out for your dates then you will have to have a package with resort and tickets to get it.
You can't turn what you have into a package, you have to rebook
I'd pop over the the main Parks discussion page and peruse the ticket stickey to get a feel for when increases have come in the past. I think last year there was two, or maybe it was the year before.

If I decide to add tickets can I call and add them or is rebooking, whether online or on the phone, the only option?

You can purchase tickets separately from Disney or any authorized 3rd party seller (like Undercover Tourist) without affecting the room only reservation.

If "free dining" becomes available and you want to take advantage of that, then it's a cancel and rebook.

To add to this... for “free dining” you must buy the tickets with the resort package. If you may want this, do NOT buy separate tickets (either through WDW or a third party).

You’ll have to decide if buying tickets sooner rather than later to avoid a potential (likely) increase is more or less important than waiting for a free dining offer. And already having a room booked does not guarantee you can get any discount offer in the future.

Enjoy your vacation!
