Room only discounts for Fall?

My DH and I went last October with a 30% off Deluxe. We opted out of free dining because the room discount was better.

We currently have free dining but were hoping for the room only discount again but when I go online to see the availability at a Deluxe, Epcot resorts, it only shows suites available. (for all 3 resorts) I'm thinking maybe they are full the week I am there and the week before, so maybe nothing will be offered cause they dont need to fill the rooms.

I am updating this cause I just checked the Mods and Deluxes for my week in October and the only offer is for a cabin at Ft. Wilderness and rooms at the Value Resorts. Is my week gonna be busy or what????

I even looked at BC for next year at the same time and cant get a standard room????

If you're talking about the week of October 22, there is a Garner Symposium being held then, with all the Epcot resorts, as well as several others, having large bookings.

I spoke with a few CM's today, had to call for our BOG ressie, and I asked many of them about Fall room only discounts...all of them said the same thing, wait two more weeks. So hopefully two weeks from today?

Was hoping to get back to the Epcot resort area but I dont think that is gonna happen, too many large groups/meetings/conference people taking up all the rooms.

So glad I booked the FQ way back when, the AAA discount seems to be the only thing I am getting this year

I was looking at the Gartner site yesterday and their block of rooms for most of the resorts are already sold out for 2013. There's a big list of hotels they are using on the site so you can avoid it.

Great...I'll be out of town Mon and Tues and school starts on that Thursday...That is one of the worst weeks ever for me to be glued to the computer waiting for a discount. Talk about cutting it short, I am going for Columbus Weekend...I have a snowballs chance, I know!

Does anyone know if the suites at AoA will be given a discount? And do they go with the typical %off for value resorts? I am guessing the Little Mermaid rooms will be excluded like they were in FD.

Reading the tea leaves, my guesses about the room discounts at this point:

1. They will be announced the week of Labor Day.

2. They will be similar in nature to what we've seen this year (i.e., more ad hoc based on specific resort and not a blanket % discount based on resort category as in years past).

3. 35% will be the highest percent discount we'll see (but most resorts will be well lower than this, often between 5% and 20%).

4. Resorts with the best % discounts will include: All EP resorts, AKL (except Savannah view rooms), SSR, OKW, CBR, and GF (due to construction issues). Resorts with moderate (but not particularly great) % discounts will include: Poly, CSR, and All-Stars. Resorts with weak (to no) discounts will include: CR, WL (especially in December), POR, POFQ, POP, and AOA (Little Mermaid rooms).

5. The month of October will have very limited (if any) discount availablity, which may, in part, explain why they're waiting so long (no need to announce now if they're not offering the discounts until November).

I went to www.disneyworld.com, dates are 10/22-10/29/2012, I chose Mod resorts and Cabins at Ft. Wilderness came up as the only Mod available.

I just want it to come out and be over with so I can go on about obsessing about other things in my life I have already come to terms with the fact that I will not get a discount, I just need to know for sure!

To add insult, I just found out that Turf Club is not doing lunch after 9/30...My adr...10/6. I wonder when they are going to tell me about it? I found out on allears.
