I'm confused. I just read on a post that your WDW resort room key is what you use to get into the parks.

How does this work? We are staying at the CR but I was planning on buying a 6 day Hopper Pass for all of us. :confused3

This is only if you bought a package which included admission. We stayed at the Poly last year and our holiday did not include park admission, we bought our own hopper passes in England and brought them with us.

Your room key can also be used for charging meals, merchandise, etc...to your room. You will also need them to take advantage of EMH.

Even if you purchase tickets separately (rather than as a 'package'), I have been told that you can request to have the admission encoded onto your room key card at check in. Then you have one less card to have to keep track of. Your room key card can then serve as your room key, admission ticket, and charge card all in one. Very convenient.

Edited to add that the same info was given on this previous thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=817487
