Room discounts, and types of rooms?

When a discount comes out for a resort.. (Polynesian, Wilderness lodge), does it matter what type of room?

If the discount is 30%, its for the resort, and not different for the types of rooms? (water view, vs garden view, vs parking lot)

Technically, yes, the discount is good on any type of room. However, there are only a certain number of rooms available under any particular discount, and if there is a type of room that's already pretty well booked, it won't be available. They won't advertise it within the discount, but when you call to book or when you book online, you'll see exactly what's available; your specific request might not be.
