This is our first cruise ever.......I just found this site and I am a little scared about the room. I have read it is noisy???I saved a long time to have our dream cruise, should I wait list for another room?

You may get a little noise from a lot of the cabins on this deck. I have heard people complain about deck chairs being moved. If I am correct this is a cat. 3, there are 4 Cat. 3 that are quite a bit larger and they are #8032, 8034, 8532, and 8534. I would highly recommend calling and seeing if any of these cabins are available and grab one if it is. If not see about being waitlisted for one of these cabins. Have fun.

Sorry, one other thing about the balconies. I believe that the cat. 3 are double wide balconies but in the 4 cabins I mentioned above they are triple wide.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My $.02 worth............

We were in 8048 and found it to be pretty noisey, especially early in the morning (4:30 - 5:00). Chairs and tables being moved, carts rolling to snack bars, etc. It was also very noisey during the deck party. I, personally, would call and try to get another room, or see if you can go on a waitlist for one more forward (away from the Goofy pool stage).

Here is my opinion:

We were in 8550 other side of the hall and 3 doors down and it was N~O~I~S~Y! We could hear running above our heads, table and chairs sliding (mostly in the EARLY morning and late at night) we could hear the sail away party in fact so good one night we stood out on our balcony and danced with the kids just to satisfy them to go to sleep. I personally wouldnt ever want to stay on that deck in THAT area again. Maybe further forward or aft but no way would I stay in the middle again. I thought since we were on the same deck as the Cat 1,2 and 3's it would be an awesome location but for us it was terrible! I was so glad to get out of my cabin and hated the thought of going to bed. Also while it was nice to run up 1 deck to get breakfast or to get to the pools going down the 3-5 decks to get to anything else was terrible. The elevators in that area were slow (dont know if they all are of just in the middle) and so we would take the steps. At night we had to use our Sound Machine and turn it up full blast just to drown out the noise.

If it were me I dont think I'd ever stay on the 8th deck again especially if you have saved for a long time and it's a dream cruise. I'd rather have cabins above me than decks with chairs and lots of kids running around. My inlaws stayed on the 7th deck in a Nav. Verandah and they said it was really quiet. They were really far forward but said they didnt hear any noise from anyone around them or above them.

Just my opinion however so take it for what it's worth!

We were on the Wonder in Feb. in rm.8060. We loved this room. I really didn't hear much noise at all and the veranda was great. Maybe you can request this area?

In November of '02 we were in I believe the # was 8522. It was a Cat. 3 One Bedroom Suite. We booked over a year ago for our upcoming cruise and asked for the prime location for a Cat. 4 Deluxe Family Stateroom w/ verandah and were assigned 8036. (On our first cruise we booked #8040 but we were automatically upgraded to 8522 a few weeks before we sailed!) I will post on whether I think it was too noisy when we get back. I personally would never stay anywhere but deck 8 especially if you want to have the best room, etc. It all depends on what you are used to. If you always want to have the best of everything when you travel definitely stay on Deck 8. We don't go to bed early and by the early morning hours we are in a deep sleep so I honestly don't think it will be an issue!?

Just our family's opinion. My boys would be disappointed if we ever stayed anywhere but Deck 8!

We stayed in 8092. It was way aft. Nice and quiet. If you can get back there, I'd say move. Check with DCL. Aft may be available. They normally think the midship are the best and may not show an aft available when it really is.

We have been on 3 cruises and all 3 were on deck 8 (once in 8530 and twice in 8030). We found deck 8 to be terrific. We heard an occaisional deck chair being moved but it really was no problem and the great location (only 1 deck from most of the action on deck 9) more than made up for a little (very little) noise.
We are booked on deck 8 this Nov. and can't wait.

We were in 8032, and like Howard, heard a chair scrap or ping pong ball drop now and then, but were never bothered by the noise.

Got back Saturday drom the 7 day Western on the Magic and had an absolutely awesome time! Room 8036 was great! We loved it. Now we have been in Cat. 3 8522 and cat. 4 8036. We are definitely hooked on Deck 8. In the morning I would occasionally hear a deck chair moving but I was up already. It's not like it woke me up. One of my 12 year olds who sleeps in slept until 10am and longer on our days at sea. We actually found our room to be very quiet, secluded and private! The bunk beds in the room were really cool. My boys loved those and were so surprised the first night! I would not change your deck 8 midship location if I were you. It goes first for a reason!

Does anyone know if this room is noisey! This thread is making me nervous and we sail in less than 1 month! Our first cruise ever and I want it to be magical in every way!?
HELP!
