Has anyone lately done the Romantic Escape at Sea" Pkg?

Did you love it? What was the price? Do you have to book it at the time you book your trip?

thanks

Patricia :sunny:

I haven't done it on any of our 4 sailings but I think I am for the next in Nov. I believe you must book 60 days out to pick you dining rotations.....that is a "perk" for booking it I believe.....come on experts help us out!!!

We did the REAS package it was well worth it!! We booked our trip a year in advance, and we did not know about the package. After reading the posts here we decided to go for it. We added it with about 5 months to go before our cruise. It was wonderful! We were able to make Palo res. in advance for dinner and brunch. We were also able to make spa res. too! We will do it next ime as well!!

Were you able to "set" your dining rotation also?

We did it in October and loved it as well. We added it on to our Sept Wonder cruise. As far as your dining rotation, you can "request" a particular rotation, although it is not guaranteed. From all I have read here, most do get it, however!

The price is $349, includes dinner at Palo (the added surcharge is included), couples massage (onboard, choice of aromatherapy or the spa taster), a champagne basket (ours had champagne, a picture album and chocolate), a romantic turn down (kinda cheesy, but still a nice touch :p ), and champagne breakfast in bed (room service from a special breakfast menu) on the morning of your choice....just not the last day. You can also, as a courtesy, book your Palo brunch, tea and request your dining rotation when you book your Palo dinner and massages, although the added surcharges are not included.

Lastly, we added our REAS on to both cruises well after we booked the cruise. Just get your ressie requests in as early as they'll take them!

Just got back and did REAS-loved it! You can add it any time up to
two weeks before you sail. I added it on and then immediately called Deb in REAS reservations. She set up our massages, champagne breaky, Palo dinner and also our Palo brunch (not included in price but you have the advantage of booking ahead of time). The cost was $339. and well worth it for the convenience (and services).
When we arrived in our stateroom our little basket was waiting for us-with choc. champagne photo album. The romantic turndown was really cute.

A few observations: Check your itinerary immediately when you get to your stateroom-if anything is not correct or is missing go to Guest Services right away-you have a better chance of getting it fixed if you go early.

If you plan on drinking your champagne ask your stateroom hostess to put it on ice for you and order a couple of champagne glasses so you have them when you decide to open the bottle. They don't include any in your basket.

Definitely put "NO SALES PITCH" in the comment section on your massage forms-don't be shy about it, they really give you the hard sell and that stuff is expensive (and unnecessary). If you get hooked into it, they will not take it back without charging you a restocking fee.

On that note: Don't forget to tip the CM giving you the massage.

Remember to tip your Palo server for brunch and dinner service. Remember to order your Champagne Breaky in Bed but not on the morning immediately following your Palo Dinner - food overload.

We will most definitely add this onto our next trip. Really nice getting on the ship and having lunch at a nice relaxed pace, having a nice drink on deck, swimming with no one in the pool-no running around getting reservations etc.

When you tip your CM for the massage and your waiters for Palo, can you charge it to your KTTW card like the rest, or do you need to tip them then? Just wondering if I do decide to do the REAS, if I would need to take cash with me to the massage and Palo.
TIA!

:goodvibes How much should you tip for a couples massage?
we have booked REAS and debbie has been great!

Only 36 days to go!!!!

Yes, you charge it to your KTTW-no cash required anywhere on the ship (watch your kids and the arcade!)

General tip is around 15-20 each for massage (massage is $109/$242 couple so about 15-20%)

goofytoo-wish I were going with you!

Have a great time! I know we did.

We felt like it was worth the expense to have our reservations made in advance, so that we could be certain to get the times we wanted without having to worry about it. So we are doing it again in April.
However, it’s only worth it if you're going to book a spa treatment anyway.
Debbie with REAS is excellent and will do what she can to accommodate you.

As a side note it was a mess in Sept. on the hurricane Jeanne cruise. When the cruise was shortened, we suddenly had reservations in the middle of excursions. But it was eventually sorted out, and we were given some degree of priority I think because we had the REAS package.
