Rolling thru the WORLD in a wheelchair on a WISH trip! 8/12 NEW UPDATE*CR CAPTIVES!!

Hi LeeLee, that is so nice that the gentlman in Minnie's house held the crowd back so Braeton could sit on the couch with Tyler and get his pictures taken. There are still some good people, that's nice to know.

I know you are busy with your house and trying to download the resst of the pics of the trip so will try to be patient until you get a chance to get your house pictures downloaded.

Braeton's description of CP is a riot. He's such a cool kid! I love Tyler too, out of his own pocket going to give Breaeton money to go to walmart if he sleeps with the braces two more nights. You got great kids there LeeLee, you are doing a wonderful job with them!

:worship: :worship: :worship:   :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :drive: :drive: :drive: :moped: :moped: ::cop: ::cop: ::cop: For the boys!!!!

minnies house was a lot of fun. It's better than Mickeys house because you can actually touch the stuff and interact in it. But very tricky for those in a w/chair especially when it's crowded!!!!
Yes the boys do get along great. But they do have their moments. Like all siblings!! Especially as B's mind gets sharper and sharper. Tyler likes doing "Big" stuff and playing with kids his own age which he doesn't get to do a lot out of school but they do prefer to be together. Their biggest thing about the new house is YEAH they get their own rooms so they can see who is the messiest and they both say Tyler!!!:rotfl2: But they have checked several times to make sure they can sleep in each others rooms!!! My favorite thing is when Braeton pats Tyler on the cheek and says You are my best Bubba in the whole world.:goodvibes Tyler looks out for his Bro. The only time I've ever seen him want to punch somebody is when some kid decides to make cracks about Braetons disability. The one Bully in his class knows what to do to get to Tyler and that is to whisper handicapped handicapped handicapped kid he walks funny when their class passes Braetons class going to lunch!!! Tylers teacher told me T had fingernail prints in his hand from clinching his hands so hard. T had told me what was going on and I told his Teacher who was furious so she watched and needless to say he hasn't done that in a long time, Tyler also had a time out one day for pushing this child at recess. That is an office offense but the kid was making very rude remarks about Braeton and Shannon. So everyone understood. T wouldn't have had time out it was so bad but they couldn't act like it was o.k. to push and hit someone. He is such an easygoing kid as far as temper goes but when it comes to his family he is a protective bear.:upsidedow

Tyler is great!!! I hate how mean and ignorant some kids are. Their parents apparently did not teach them right!

What a great trip report! Your boys are adorable and their smiles are what kept me to the computer to read your whole trip report! I can't wait to read the rest. :goodvibes popcorn::

Hi!Remember me??:flower3: I came back and I am all caught up.I have loved all of it and look forward to reading more.

I'd be button-poppin' proud !!!!!
i am, Well I do have to admit that on their off days. Yes they do have off days. They are kids not saints. I have been know to get button-poppin mad!!!:rotfl:

So off we went towards the gate to head to the monorail. Stoppig to take a potty break. Now I think we had a big neon sign flashing on us that everybody BUT us could see. (Yes I know the correct English is except usbut I'm from Texas and it just fits in better thisaway!!!;) ) It said on the way to the bathroom, QUICK grab the handicapped stall before we get there, we LIKE to us the B/R with the Door open!!!!:rotfl2:

Yes once again as we went in a lady with a ittle girl walks in BEHIND us and as I'm manuevering the wheelchair, goes around us and walks right past Tyler who ws holding the stall door open for me and goes in!!! Yes Ma'am 'm holding this door open for you, NOT the the kid in the wheelchair who's holding himself crying I got to go NOW Mom. Yea we just look a lot alike we aren't any kin at all!!!;)

O.k Maybe she had to go so bad she couldn't help herself. Then I hear her. O.k. Hunny let's tuck your shirt in like this and here let Mommy fix your hair????????????? Meanwhil back at the....well on the other sde of the stall waiting. There is one Teeny stall open. Soooooo here I go.... I look at another woman who came in and said go ahead and she said No hunny I'll help you. I backed up the w/c and proceeded to help B out. Now he was having a rough day. Physically that is and his legs were REALLY tight, so getting him out was a trick in itself. I had Tyler facing the inside of the stall in case any women needed to tuck in anything!!! He was holding on the the chair and I was trying to get raeton out. THe nice Lady helped Tyler maneuver the chair and just about the time I got Braeton out and was helping him Potty the lady and her daughter comes out. She sees Tyle standing there and says THIS is the WOMENS bathroom and then looks at me bending over and say WELL I NEVER. You NEED to SHUT that door. Now the wheelchair is sticking out of the door so HOw I'm supposed to do that I don't know. About that time the lady who helped us was fixing to go in another stall and she turned and said. That is why THAT stall has a WHEELCHAIR on it and gave her THE LOOK. You know the double whammy eyebrow look. Poor Tyler had to use the bathroom after we were through. As we left he said MOM I promise I would scream if someone came near me just PLEASE let me use the guys bathroom!!:rotfl2:

The lady who was so nice was behind us and she just died laughing. We thanked her and she said no problem. Her daughter had been in a wheelchair all her life and she understood!! So she got a hug and then we doubletimed it to the monorail.

We figure out where to go and we are waiting when I realized I needed to find my "eating" kit. It is to try to help us have a less messy meal with Braeton. He is extremely messy. But I just try to be thankfull he can eat but still he is REALLY messy. Especially if we have to wait a while. The eating kit contained. activity book, notebook, crayons, pen, extra wet wipes and stickers. As I was digging I hear that becoming very familiar yell. MOM there he goes AGAIN!!!

WHAT????????????????????????????????

Yep you guessed it, Braeton had once again let the brakes loose and was rolling down the slope!!!!!!!

I'm running after him dropping stuff out of the pack when he catches his wheels and starts ROLLING HIMSELF @ in circles. Laughing the whole time!!!!!!!! A CM sees him starts running toward us calling out Please don't do that in the middle of the walkway!! When he gets al ittle closer he noticed the situation. I told him sorry. He's learned to flip the brakes. He smiled and said that's o.k. Are you on your wish trip? Yes we replied. Braeton wouldn't say a word. He gave us some more stickers and we were on our way. PHEW!!!!!!

So finally we were next. It was pretty crowded but we made it next to another gentleman in a chair. They tried to engage Braeton in conversation but he was in his "world" and was just stringing words together. I was on pins and needles just waiting for everyone to get out not knowig WHAT he was oging to say next!!! Finally they all unloaded and we were on our way by ourselves!!!!!!! We stopped and it was a little tricky. They didn't know there wa a wheelchair on and didn't have the ramps ready. So we had to wait a few minutes and finally we were off and on our way. MMMMMMM It already smelled Soooooooooooooooooooo Gooooooooooooooood!!!!!:goodvibes

The lady in the bathroom with the little girl needs to be slapped!!!!!!!   I am so glad the other lady helped you. That was sweet of her!

I can't wait to hear about your dinner at Chef Mickey's!

LeeLee2U...just finished reading your entire TR (to-date)...you have a marvelous family! It simply appalls me how some people are so rude to those that use a wheelchair or crutches...I have always held doors and helped out in anyway I can...in return, it has taught my children (ages 15 & 10) to be extra aware of those around them and help out when appropriate...my kids have been known to get into fights at school to stand up for wheelchair bound children and those that have a birth defect...it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside to know they are this way.

Anyway...just wanted to let you know that I am along for the ride...great report so far, can't wait for the next installment!

The woman in the bathroom was outrageous

Braeton is hilarious with his freewheeling, probably not to you though

You have the patience of a saint. I would have had that woman's head in the toilet with my foot while my kid flushed.

Yeah, what she said!

Leah, with all that you have going on, it always amazes me that you find a minute to share your trip with us! Thank you so much!

Lee , that scenario would have made me come unglued. How dare her take the stall meant for people with disabilities when she clearly saw you there, then talk like that. I love the woman that helped you, she was wonderful!!

Great installment, it shows the hard side of life, but also shows how you get through it.

Hugs to you and your family :grouphug:.

LeeLee...I love your updates.

I can't believe how rude that lady was and then to have the never to say what she did

She is so lucky My mom or I were not there...

I am so glad that the other lady was there to help you, shows there are still compassionate people in the world:lovestruc

Braeton...He always keeps you on your toes..Love that kid:rotfl:

Tyler...he is too much:rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear about Chef Mickeys:thumbsup2

I can't beleive that woman did that. You think she would have come sense. Boy in wheelchair need the big bathroom. Not her child that is not in a wheelchair.

I laughed when he went rolling for the 2nd time.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That Braeton is pretty smart, knows just when he can release the brakes to get Mom a-runnin:lmao: I'm sure he has a huge smile when he does it.
It's gotta be pretty scary though.

LeeLee, Hope you all are okay....

Giving ya a bump:goodvibes
