ok u really wanna do the 4 day but something keeps dragging me back here SOOOoooooo i think im booking this one !!!! with no excursions planned for us for nassau ( we did dolphin this year ) i think we will just sleep in and relax that day and same for castaway making the cruise more relaxing vs all the rush rush we experienced this year ... only thing im bummed about is an extra show that 4th night for those of you who have never DCL cruised the shows are AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!anyways i think im in i will let you know in the morning i have to get someone to read me the credit card number so i can book it ..... im also up for fish extenders...... it seems everyone here is more lively than the 4 day which leaves the day we get back PLUS we will have people from the UK how cool is that?

Great news Cari - I have to admit, I am very new to the whole fish extender thing so if anyone else wants to volunteer that would be great. However, I don't mind doing it if someone can explain to me what to do.

Are there some rules for fish extenders, like what goes in them and to who or anything like that? I'm new to all this too but it sounds like fun!!
I've ordered a personalised one via a lady I found on ebay already - I'm a compulsive planner, I have to get everything as early as possible! I had my wedding dress picked out almost 2 years before the wedding date

i can head up the extenders if everyone agrees ???? i found this last time which was my first time the best way to do it was to start at the lowest or highest floor and work your way up or down from there..... NO theres really no limit to what you put in but it is supposed to be fun so just remember dont spend a fortune and dont stress things i got this last time

these r all things most people get at the dollar store... since by the time everyone signs up for the FE the list can get big so thats why we try to do dollar items .... most valueable thing i learned if you buy something for each person in the room ( like 3 people in a room and you buy say 3 pads of paper and pens ) sometimes its cheaper to buy 1 enjoyable family gift (like i bought 1 family a DH and DW a deck of cards to share ) you dont have to but it is an oprion and is what i kinda did for some of my stuff and other stuff i bought for all of the people in the room

what i though i would do since i know the lay of the ship now is map it all out for everyone where each room is and how to get there etc ...... REMEMBER this is the plan in my head LOL what actually winds up happening is something to find out LOL
anyways for my cruise we did extenders every night the first secnd and third so everyone hung their FE when they got onboard .....i myself seem to be a very late night delivery kinda gal so far warning !
oh im soooo excited
any other ?s about FE just let me know and let me know if your all good with me keeping the list up to date and mapping stuff out ?

Just so I know, roughly how big is a pocket on a fish extender? I've got mine ordered already now! What's the largest sort of item that might fit? Say, a mug - too big or about right?

Woohoo, great news Cari - so glad you and Denver are gonna be joining us all.

I, for one, am perfectly happy for you to organise the list - one less thing for me to worry about lol.

As we are from the UK, we will probably provide little gifts and candy that you can't get in the US.

Yes, please post a list for Denver too as I wouldn't have the first idea what to buy for him.

This is going to be great fun - although we've cruised before, we didn't have a FE exchange on our last cruise so I'm really looking forward to it. Just need to get some FEs ordered now - we will have 2 staterooms as there are 5 of us so will need 2 FEs I presume!

From what I can gather, Meryll, the FEs are about 8 inches wide and the pockes are about 6 inches deep.

as for needing 2 extenders NO you dont need 2 just get 1 and hang it on one of the doors, unless you WANT 2 then GO FOR IT !!!!!yay....ok does anyone have a room assignment yet then ?????

I am mommys eyes! I am an 80 pound Labrador. Mommy says I need to make a FE list so here it is. The last cruise we took I got some goodies. Mommy says to tell everyone that im not a selfish boy and I will not be sad if you dont get me anything. BUT if you feel like it this is a list of NO NOs and YES YES's that I can/cant have ....

Rawhide ( compressed Rawhide is ok though sometims )

thats about it ... otherwise heres some ideas of frairly cheap things that float my boat but dont limit your imaginations either i like things out of the ordinary too !!!

steralized hollow bones ( petsmart 4" or longer NO filling )

rawhide bones ( can cause blockege in any dogs intestines but compressed rawhide is ok )
Pig ears ( causes joint problems in large breed dogs )
greenies ( a severe choking hazzard )
cow hooves ( not bad , just not good they r stinkey and can cause my tummy to get sick )
pretty good huh just a few no no items mommy says its for the best

Do you have a bigger picture of Denver you can post? I love dogs even though I've never had one myself.

So do each of us just buy one thing to go in each of the others FE's? I'm a little worried about bag space!

you can buy 1 gift for each day like a shared gift or you can do seperate things for everyone
what alot of people do is box the stuff up and ship it to the port but i dont know how it is done i can find out though ..... alot of people on my last cruise did it that way ... what i did bec i was flying southwest and bags fly free is pack it in 1 suiycase and what i filled it with went out but what i got went in LOL and then i had a little extra room for souviners etc. so you might think about that

Thanks for volunteering to coordinate the FE lists. I do have a cabin assignment, but don't have it with me at the moment. We also can't wait to meet everyone in person. Thanks too for the list of goodies for Denver - AJ (the grandson) will love meeting him especially!

If you correspond with her - you can make specific requests. I've ordered one as a Christmas present to the rest of my travelmates.

thanks for the stateroom info i will keep a list and post as we get closer to sailing . Ohhhhhh cool secret porthome i think somene from our last cruise had that SAME room but then it flooded and they got moved to and even better room LOL a verandah guess it wasnt so bad

no food which narrows out my candy etc but if i can ship a majority then it will be better on my suitcase LOL hope this helps

Yes it was me and I had no problem at all , even though it drove me crazy worrying about it everything was there and waiting when I arrived in my room

Now you need to put the ship you are sailing on and the date of departure too so it does not go to someone else. I mailed mine 7 days in advace just to make sure it got there and it is cheaper to get a flat rate box and fill it up that way it won't cost per pound and be a whole lot more.

here is some other info:

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Friday for Saturday and Sunday sailings.

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Wednesday for Thursday sailings.

-ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.

-The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.

-The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

-NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

- The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)
