Hi Everyone....got some good news that I thought I'd pass along.
For our Nassau visit, we planned to do the Atlantis acquaventure, which Disney offers for $160 per person for those over age 9. Based on information from this and other boards, I was able to instead book a room at the Comfort Suites (accross the street) for our family of 4 for 199.58 US (taxes incl) + $38.00 = $237.58 which includes Atlantis day passes for the four of us. The only thing extra we will have to pay is our transportation which is approx 48$ return for the four of us and lunch $60 for four of us. bringing our total to $345.58 versus $640.00 When I made my booking there were 8rooms left at this pricing (which was with our CAA/AAA discount). This probably isn't worth it if you're only two, but for a family of four with teens, we found it to be a great savings...Have a great day!!

WOW !!!!! That is a FANTASTIC savings !!!!Great foot work ! I did the Sea Lion encounter last year and didnt book thru DCL because they didnt offer it ... I think I saved a little though booking it myself . I was alsi looking into the Glacier tours for our next Alaska cruise and it is the same thing ... if you book with the cruise line it is like 550 PP of you book yourself ... I have found some as low as 259PP which is HUGE !!!! Dave ( my DH ) was so bummed on our last cruise because we didnt walk on a glacier and we didnt go whale watching .... It was our first ever cruise ( in Sept 08 ) and we didnt know what we were doing LOL now Dave says he wants to take the helicopter to the glacier so Denver can say ( Like he really talks LOL ) He was one of the only Guide Dogs to walk on a glacier !!!! :rotfl:

Cari, you may already use this website, but if not, I always find this one most helpful when cruise planning. I am not sure if I am allowed to post but here goes. It is cruise critic dot com It is a wonderful site, and like this board you can find whom you will be cruising with, and lots of great info.
BTW we are so thrilled to be having a dog sailing with us...can't wait to meet you and the famous Denver!!

CDNLIVING- Yes I use CC ( Cruise critic ) all the time . Since you like the dog you should stop by the board on CC called crusing with a service dog ... if you cant find it thru CC just google it... we tell cruise stories of our dogs and some who dont have service dogs post too they love the stories so stop on by... it is very helpful for figuring out what we need for each sailing like for example Denver needed an import permit to go to Nassau.... I found out because of that board and now disney also knows and tells u when you book.... fun site
Anyways im going nuts i want to sail NOW !

Cari, sounds neat..l'll have to take a look at that sight tomorrow...I have spent the better part of this eve reading all the posts for this cruise - what an active group!! BTW we are in room 7084 for FE. We lost our beautiful golden retriever Pal a few months ago to cancer, and can't bear the thought of another. But we are thrilled at the possibility of spending some "play" time with Denver on the cruise. That will be wonderful. He is such a handsome boy. I wish I could better see the picture of him at the beach in what looks like ?? a Pluto outfit??

The pic of Denver in the avatar is of him with Pluto at Castaway Cay last cruise Oct 08
I tried to post some pics of Denver and my other Golden for you they didnt go thru SO I will try to post again :confused3 last one didnt go thru

Hello all! I have no clue what was going on, but I was not getting my emails whenever a new post was listed, so I just figured that this thread was quiet for a while, but I see you have all been VERY busy! We are back in school here in SC and I begin graduate studies again soon too. I am getting geared up for this cruise and can't wait - my summer tan is fading fast! Now that I see stuff is happening, I'll be sure to check back in more often! Hope you all have a great day! :hippie:

Hey guys. Just wanted to check in and see if there was an updated FE list yet. I'm really excited to finish up and just wanted to double check!!

Hope everyone is well!! See you all soon!!

Cari...I loved the pics..thanks for sending...absolutely beautiful they are!!
Any ideas on when the FE lists might be ready? We'd like to make some special gifts if time allows. We're all getting excited!!!!

wow - I think I have caught up with all the posts since April, but probably missed something that I will ask here or in the future, so please forgive me. Does anybody do the name badges like the CM's wear? I'd love to have one for each member of our fam with the cruise dates at the bottom where the CM's country of origin usually is. We had this on our last cruise and I can't find my document. I want to make more door magnets! DH says we will need 2 doors if I keep it up!
I'm anxious to hear if I made it into the FE group or not, I responded a bit late so I amy have missed out. The boys are getting excited about the trip and they really want to see Denver!

Hi guys, just wanted to pop in and let yu know I will post the updated FE lists in the next day or so. Had a really busy week this week as DD1 got her GCSE exam results and the kids al; came back from their various trips to grandparents. We are having a party tomorrow to celebrate DD's results but I should be able to get the updated list osted on Monday.

Hi guys!
Our trip is getting cloooser!
I am so excited!!! Less than a month to our September trip and then one more month after that for the cruise.
Today I am going to try and finish most of my costume.
I can't believe September is already here, I am so glad, I am not so fond of summer, it gets too hot and humid here in FL and it never seems to end! :rotfl:

At least it was a tiiiiiiny wee bit chilly a couple of mornings last week. But make no mistake that's just a tease, it is again plenty hot and sunny out there today, short pants and shirt weather.

I agree. It definitley gets hot in Pensacola during the summer. Some days I just hide in the AC all day. We learned some years ago that a trip to WDW during the summer is insane. Though it took us a awhile to actually stop. We prefer to take our trips on off season times. It is much cooler and a lot less crowded. We went one year in February and it seemed that we had the parks to ourselves.

I agree, when I first moved to FL I could just run from the A/C in the house to the car and back on the worst days of summer :rotfl: it is just like a sauna!

I have never attempted WDW in August, doubt I ever will, it is a luxury of being child-free I guess, we can take vacations off-season at the drop of a hat. Better prices and more reasonable weather :lmao:

We have our paperwork from our TA and our stateroom is number 8002. I hope I can get in on the FE! We are looking forward to another hot week in SC. I'd love to say that its going to cool down soon, but that would be a lie. :scared: Cooler weather won't hit us til about November. I remember giving out freeze pops one Halloween - It was a big hit! All the kids were hot in their costumes. That may be an ideas for the Disney folks since it will still be warm in the Bahamas! :beach:
