Roger Rabbit - to spin or not to spin

When planning our trip I assumed I would skip Roger Rabbit just like I know I will skip the tea cups. I don't have motion sickness, but I don't really like spinning endlessly in circles either. However, I just watched POV video for Roger Rabbit that the DIS Orlando team posted and it looks like a trip! The effects just look kind of wild and I think DH and I would definitely want to check it out. It didn't seem like their car was spinning the entire time so I think I may be able to handle it. Can anyone tell me how much spinning you do?

If you choose not to spin the wheel, you spin slowly and stay in one position for 10-15 seconds. I get motion sick, but not on RR. You will find yourself going backwards more then forwards, though. You can also hold the wheel and try to keep it from spinning if you really don't want to spun at all.

You can control the spinning similar to teacups. But the cars themselves to spin to a degree.

I skip everything that is "circles" - TeaCups, Dumbo, Carousel, etc. But I can do the Roger Rabbit.

DH gets queesy on the tea cups, carousel, star tours etc and won't ride them. However for some reason he is fine on roger rabbit because it is a different kind of motion. Its a cute ride and I would definitely give it a try.

It's pretty easy to hold the wheel on this ride and control the spinning or keep from spinning altogether. I would check it out if I were you.

Like the other PP have stated it is not that bad, you have a bit more control. DD and I never "spin" the wheel. We just ride and it is more of a sway motion.

:-)

Great! I'll have to go for it. And rewatch Roger Rabbit - it's been years since I've seen it.

It's interesting, how different rides can affect different people. For example, I can ride Dumbo, but I cannot do Star Tours, the Tea Cups or Roger Rabbit. I tried holding the car steady (so it didn't spin too much), but it still spun more than my stomach could handle. I think the sustained (and relatively smooth) spin of Dumbo is why I can ride that, but the more jerky spinning of Tea Cups and Roger Rabbit rules it out for me. Personally, if you are prone to motion sickness I wait until as late as possible in the day to ride Roger Rabbit. That way if you do get motion sick, you won't ruin the rest of the day.

I don't do circles. I use to, but just can't anymore. Roger Rabbit doesn't bother me at all so I would say go ahead and do it. After all unless you have kids or are a kid thats about the only thing to do in Toontown.

You can't get Roger Rabbit cars going anywhere near as fast as the teacups go. The cars on RR don't really "spin" around and around, it's more that they move as they go through the ride.

RR cars will move a bit on their own even if you never touch the wheel during the whole ride. There are areas in the track that automatically move your car in another direction. If you don't attempt to control where it's at you will not always be facing things you might want to see.

I found the wheel a bit of a struggle when I tried to just keep the car aimed in the direction I wanted to look at. It was like going against the flow. If you just turn it without trying to look in a particular direction it's easier.

Can anyone tell me how much spinning you do?
We don't do any spinning, but we do turn the car to get different views of each room, not just straight ahead. Each room was designed with that in mind, that you could look behind or to the side and see something of interest.

I get really motion sick and won't go near the teacups. Roger Rabbit is ok for me. Sometimes I try to make it stop from turning, but it's hard to do and I generally give up. Still it's not really worse for me than the other DL dark rides.
