If you don't mind sharing...what are the terms of your contract?

We mailed our check and paperwork on Tuesday. Does anyone know how much longer we should expect to wait??? :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

They received my check on May 15th, closing documents signed by the seller were received on May 23rd, and I was called on Monday and was told I should be in the system by the end of the week. I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect. Are you booking a trip for this year?

Here is my timeframe so fAR
made offer/offer accepted and put down deposit: 4/17
went to disney for rofr: 4/21

My paperwork was sent to Disney on the 23rd.. still waiting.. :worried:

I got my DVC Planner today!:yay: I was shocked, because I've read from others it was taking long until they got their planner.

Cool Kimmy! Each step is painful but you get there eventually. I mailed my final check this Tuesday.

Whats the DVC planner?

Nick

The planner booklet is essentially like the hardcover DREAMS book that DVC gives out to prospective members except the planner has a few pages in the front that explain how banking/borrowing and other stuff works and it gives you the phone numbers for member services, administration and other stuff. To be honest, when we got ours, it wasn't anything we didn't already know. The rest of the planner book is just photos of the different resorts and trade options available through DVC.

It looks like this:

The thing that takes a while to get is your member card...you will wait a good 4 weeks or better for that one-but you can call member services and ask them for your member number in the meantime if you need it.

Here is my timeline for 3 separate contracts. The 2 SSR's contracts were purchased from separate sellers, but went to Dis at the same time, as we requested they be put under the same member ID.

Our closings took about a week longer, because we paid $4k of the contract by credit card. Had we paid all of it by check, we could have shaved about 7 - 10 days off of the timelines below.

VB Contract - Approx 2 months & 3 weeks
* Made offer on 3/7/08.
* Contracts went to Dis for ROFR on 3/13.
* Passed ROFR on 3/27.
* Estoppels came back to GMAC on 4/21.
* Received closing docs on Friday, 4/25. Returned everything to GMAC on Wednesday, 4/30.
* Contract closed on 5/16.
* Deed was recorded through Indian River County on 5/20.
* Points were available in the system on 5/29.

SSR Contracts - Approx 2 months & 2 weeks
* Made offers on 2 contracts through GMAC on 1/9/07.
* Contracts went to Dis for ROFR on 1/16.
* Passed ROFR on 1/31.
* Estoppels came back to GMAC on 2/17.
* Received closing docs on 2/20. Returned everything to GMAC on 2/21.
* Deed was recorded through Orange County on 3/7.
* We were in the system 7 days later.
* Booked first vacation on 3/21. We had points that were going to expire on 7/31 from the 120 point contract.

Ahhhh - that's what it is. We closed resale the first week in May. The only thing I've ever received from DVC is my FedEx with docs for our add on and a letter telling me that I hadn't yet completed payment for my add on! We got the letter 3 days after receiving the FedEx box. They're quick when they're still looking for your money. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm sure that someday I'll receive something from them about me being a member. :rolleyes1

Hopefully we will hear soon from the TTS soon. We mailed our final check in last week and are going bananas... well at least I am!:banana:

I got word today that we closed. Now we have to wait 10 days for Disney to get us in the system.

Cool!!!

:cool1:

3 weeks and counting so far for ROFR. Ugghh! What could they be doing? Don't they know we are waiting oh so anxiously for their acceptance into their exclusive club? :worship:

The suspense is KILLING me........:hourglass

Here's my entire recent selling experience:
Listed points on April 18
Accepted offer on April 24
Passed ROFR very fast
Closed June 3
Received check June 9

Start calling them in 5. When they confirm that your account is set up, ask them for you account and website login info. Don't wait for them to send it to you. Your account will be set up first and a few days latter your points will be entered.

Howdy! What all is on the members web page that I have been so anxiously waiting to see???

Many Thanks!
Nick
