ROFR Discussion Thread

Most points are fully-qualified---either because they are developer points, because they were gratuitously transferred, or because they are resale but predate restrictions. While the volume of restricted resale points at the existing O14 will grow, a bunch will be taken out of service when the '42 resorts close. So, while recent resale buyers are limited to the remaining O14, most owners even at O14 resorts will not be. Instead they will have access to whatever the '42s become, and those resorts are not going to sit idle for very long.

I think we are more pessimistic about this problem because recent resale buyers are over-represented in this group.
I can’t say for sure how bad it will be, but right now, looking at late Nov/Early Dec (the 7mo mark) the only “premium location” studios I could get consecutive nights in studios were RIV and PVB…to me, it suggests that the there’s a substantial resale (renter?) crew that owns a lot of points and can’t get in there as easily.
BRB offering lowballs on SSR SAP 🤣
Hahaha, so tempting! Seriously though, I feel like I should at least visit at some point soon in case there’s a major market crash.
Yep! The Lyft app has a drop down menu so you can chose the specific building you are in as the pick up location. I used it a couple of weeks ago and they literally picked me up at the elevator.
Cool, thanks!!
It also costs 2x as much. I find the best value is when going to MK.
Minnie van can be 3-5x as much. If you’re seeing 2x as much, consider yourself lucky! We would use it more but the waits are often extremely long or not available at all.
We don’t have car seat kids anymore and like the split stay because we are a walking or boat ride away from the parks.

When we’ve needed to drive we have always taken a Lyft and never had any issues.
Split stay is best, for us we generally avoid MK most of the trip because DLR is our home park (currently typing from the VGC pool)…but Lyft to and from AK, DHS, & Epcot could definitely work if we only have to walk a few steps at the end of the day. I sometimes beg our driver to drop me off over at the villa entrance to BCV, but evidently Disney really discourages it.

My life and safety are worth twice the cost. I’ve had some very questionable drivers and ended up swearing off rideshare at WDW. If you have a child in a car seat, I personally wouldn’t trust anything other than a Minnie Van.

For me, the best option is staying at a MK resort and using a rental car to get everywhere else, but everyone has their own preferences.

I’ve had some sketchy drivers to or from MCO, but I’m not sure I would pay the extra for a Minnie van if they did airport runs. lol

I do usually pay for the upgraded ride though, and that has helped a lot (everywhere, not just in Orlando)
