***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

I live 20 mins from OC, MD where Phil is from. He was just on the local news. I do not get it. He seems to not be very smart. Even if he did plan to promote his band you don't say that. He said that he did say it but as time went on he wanted to win. Some people.

Zayra is Zayra. I believe she will always be in the bottom three until she gets the boot. I think she brings some smart mouth and for some reason people like it. Not me, I like to see her go. Not looking forward to hearing her sing again. Yuck.

I'm not sure how many of you are interested in TRUE spoilers, but the following site is FANTASTIC:

Go to the Snarks and Spoilers to read what happened at the tapings each week - including footage that will not be aired, not to mention commentary from Dilana's boyfriend. After reading this, I can't wait for Toby's performance tonight. I'll have the paper bag ready to go in case I start to hyperventilate.

Haven't seen tonight's song selection posted yet so here it is:

Josh – “Santeria” by Sublime

Storm – “Changes” by David Bowie

Zayra – “867-5309/Jenny” by Tommy Tutone

Patrice – “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder (Tommy Lee on drums)

Dilana – “Can’t Get Enough” by Bad Company

Jill – “Don’t you forget about me” by Simple Minds

Ryan – “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M

Lukas – “Celebrity Skin” by Hole

Dana – “Baba O’Reily” by The Who

And lest you be disappointed by the lack of Coldplay or Nirvana songs this week…

Magni – “Clocks” by Coldplay

Toby – “Pennyroyal tea” by Nirvana

YAY, it's TUESDAY!!!

OMG that was painful, what would tommy tutone think??????????

Please send her away soon.

Storm did a really good job. It was nice not to see her acting so dramatic.

Gah!!!! :scared1: Toby is in the bottom 3! Its looks like I'm going to be up for quite awhile voting for my boy.

Who else is in the bottom 3? For some reason, this week and last week, the names don't appear when Brooke says they are there. Maybe it's the canadian broadcaster messing up? :confused3

The only one that really stood out for me tonight was Ryan -

I thought Zayra was better than last week.

Ryan was excellent!

I still really like Dilana and Jill though (even if I am the only one who likes Jill :rotfl: )

Jill and Zayra were the other the people in the bottom 3.

Please let Zayra go home this week. I'm so tired of listening to her murder decent songs.

Ryan surprised me and rocked it. I'm betting he gets the encore tomorrow.

I thought Magni was great, such a strong voice.

Dilana and Storm are both so good, and playing a subtle mindgame. I love watching them.

I think the bottom three this week will be Zayra, Jill, and ?

I am sorta hoping it'll be Dana, as she sounded exactly like the girl who sings Baba O'Reilly for the Blue Man Group, that we just saw over and over last pledge week on PBS. I wasn't impressed.

As always, the above was strictly IMO and do not effect the outcome of the show.

My thoughts:
Patrice was forgettable (the fauxhawk was ridiculous - whatever pouser).
Josh did his best ever (no Kermit!), but the song is kinda in his confort zone.
Didn't find Dilana as captivating doing a straight-up rock song.
Toby's vocals were fine, but the end of the song, when he went out into the audience was awkward, I think.
Zayra arranged the song wonderfully - made it an awesome punk song (almost), but her vocals screwed it up.
Magni sang fine, but I hate Coldplay, so I was waiting for it to be over.
Jill bombed. She completely ruined the song. It is not $2 pitcher night at the local bar, honey - show some versatility (but I think she'll be packing her bags if she is in bottom three regardless of what she performs).
Ryan - sang well and the sentiment of the song matched the pained, "I gotta run to the toilet or I need an excedrine NOW" look he always has on his face when he performs. I smell encore.
Lukas - ***! Blowed, big time. I never liked him, so I was kind of smirking when he turned around with his back to the audience - I knew what was coming. He is a troll. Whatever.
Storm - good job of toning the energy down and still commanding attention, and I love her voice. If she hadn't just had the encore last week, I would have guessed it would be her, but I don't think they'd do two weeks in a row.
Dana - progressing with the image problem. Voice is great, but she still isn't really a rocker. OMG, I'm gettin' a tattoo! Cute, but college-sorority-girl cute, not rocker cool.
DH watched with me and he thought Patrice and Dana should be rock-country singers like Sheryl Crow or Melissa Etheridge. He is a former punk and really liked the arrangement of "Jenny" but thought she should have gone just a bit further to make it (his words) "REALLY punk." He liked Josh, thought Dilana looked and sounded like an old, um, lady of the night, and I think his favorite was Ryan.

My personal top three: Storm, Josh and Ryan
My bottom three: LUKAS, JILL and Zayra
Encore: Ryan

Haven't read the latest comments yet but wanted to give my reviews before I forget to post them..

Josh- "Santeria" by Sublime. I actually liked it. So not right for Supernova but for what it was I enjoyed it. Like Tommy said, it made me want to be sitting on a beach in Jamaica with a fruity drink.

Storm - "Changes" by David Bowie. I was impressed. I like the in your face Storm better but it was great to know and see her switch things up and tone it down. I disagree that it was her best performance.

Zayra - "867-5309/Jenny" by Tommy Tutone. Ok first of all what was with the outfit? Did she get confused and thought she was also auditioning for who wants to be a superhero? I’ve got to hand it to her because she makes me laugh. I don’t think performance art was the intent but between the outfit and the cat in heat screech she called singing I was highly entertained.

Patrice - "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder (Tommy Lee on drums). Totally overwhelmed by Tommy and by the band so her voice got lost. She was like an afterthought which is not good when you’re auditioning for a band Tommy Lee is in.

Dilana - "Can't Get Enough" by Bad Company. Love Love Love Love Loved it. Not the best singer out of the group but definitely the best stage presence and the most riveting performer.

Jill - "Don't you forget about me" by Simple Minds - Well she went from humping Gilby to hooker hair extensions. What's next - Zayra's outfits? Hated it. They were 100% right on with their criticisms.

Ryan - "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. I do not like Ryan. I think he's a brooding arrogant pissypants but by far the best performance of the night. Loved it and he deserves the encore. The boy can actually sing. Too bad his stage presence is awful.

Lukas - "Celebrity Skin" by Hole. Just because you're singing a Courtney Love song doesn't mean it's a good idea to appear stoned on stage and forget the lyrics. Horrible,

Magni - "Clocks" by Coldplay. I didn't like it. I don't know if it's because I really do not like coldplay or because his performance wasn't good.

Toby - "Pennyroyal tea" by Nirvana. Please enough with the Nirvana songs. I like Nirvana but I'm tired of it. That said, he did well enough. The performance was far from memorable but he certainly didn't deserve to be in the bottom three.

Dana - "Baba O'Reily" by The Who. I have to admit I couldn't stop comparing her to Jordis simply because Jordis' version of Baba O'Reily was almost better than the original imho. However, she did a really great job and it's a shame she picked a song that was so incredibly well done last year because I think she won't get the props she deserved for it. I still don't think she's right for the band but she's a great singer.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
IMHO this will be the only reason she will NOT go home tonight...the entertainment factor. My DS and I were laughing hysterically by the time it was over - looked like Tommy and Dave and the guys were too. In fact didn't one of them say they would keep her around because they never knew what she would do next?

But she murdered that song so bad I actually had to cover my ears at times... :sad2:

I agree with each of Crankyshanks comments, and the comments from the band this time around.

I'm sorry to say that I'm coming around and agreeing with others about Zayra. I find myself wanting to see how big the train wreck is this week. Keep her around as long as there are other worthy people to vote off. That would be Jill this week based on that terrible butchering of one of my favorite songs.

This is also the first time I have a really strong feeling that people just picked the wrong songs. Jill could have done Hole better, Lukas could have done Simple Minds better. I really thought Dilana could have picked a better song as well, but it appears she can do anything better than the others. Even her worst performance in better than the average from the rest.
