***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

Honestly? I think Dave was spot on with his comment after Patrice's performance that 8 of them would be overshadowed by Tommy, Gilby, and Jason.
They've got some great singers but imho some seriously lacking in the over the top stage presence needed to command the stage. I can see Dilana, Storm, Lukas, and maybe Toby doing that. Magni maybe but he hasn't brought that yet. Sad to say I can see Zayra as well but only because she would make the concert into a mockery.

I was never a fan of Motley Crue (not that they are not good, its just not my style of music) so I only knew of Tommy Lee through the tabloids and his "Tommy Lee Goes to College" show.......OMG that man is an one AWESOME drummer, I've never heard/seen anything like it. I didn't even notice the woman who was singing in front of him...DH and I kept shouting at the TV, "show TLee" "Show Tlee"

Like a previous poster said, Dave is spot on when he says that Supernova is going to need someone really special to front those 3.

As much as it hurt to see Toby in the bottom 3 at the end of the show, I hope it gives him a much-needed kick in the pants. When he turns it on, he rocks and I just love him. I think he's shown enough of the softer side. He needs to do more performances like he did with Somebody Told Me and White Wedding. I think if he does that from here-on-out, he'll be a serious contender for the job. I really don't think he'll be in the final bottom 3, but he's still going to have to stand up with the rest of them tonight and I'm sure it will scare the crap out of him.

I just want Jill (aka Shrill!) to go home. It was actually PAINFUL to listen to her last night.

Well in that case I'll say I think the band was a little harsh with those comments. No way a person they get on this show fits that bill. This is a supergroup and no other supergroup goes out and gets a rookie to front them.

I do agree however that some come closer than others, and I do think the number (8) was about right for the people on the show who have no idea how to front a supergroup.

I was never a big fan of Motley Crue either, but quite a few years ago (a long dang time ago ) my friends had tickets to see the Crue and wanted me to go with them. I wasn't interested until I found out that White Snake was opening for them, and then I suddenly wanted to go.

Anyway, our seats were right alongside the stage, so we were seeing them from the side rather than the front. We were close enough that we could see the sweat fly, and we had a full-on view of the drums. Tommy Lee was INCREDIBLE!! That was the tour where he had this contraption set up on his drumset where he could spin upside down with the whole thing. The man was a genius!

After that concert, I became a big fan of MC, and in particular, TLee.

By now we all know that Lukas had a bad night. Here is what Lukas had to say about his performance last night:

"LR: Well, I think they see that I’m the real deal, brother. Sure there’s television involved, absolutely, but at the end of the day…the other night I did Celebrity Skin (on the episode aired last night, Tuesday August 1) and forgot the lyrics cause I didn’t believe in the song and the performance. I would rather not pretend to a crowd and try and sell something that I don’t believe in. I mean, they’re not stupid and I don’t want to lie to their face. So I basically had my back turned the whole show. And you know I just try to be honest, because whatever fans I do have out there, I wanna give them my all and my best. Last night I was just off my game, you know?"

My review of last night:

Patrice - I agree with Dave, Tommy overshadowed her.

Toby - not his best performance

Jill - she can go home after Zayhra

Zayhra - please, please, please put us all out of our misery and send her home TONIGHT - there was nothing good about her performance and her singing is awful.

Dana - she did fine but I still think she's too young to front Supernova.

Dilana - she was ok - I'm not sure I like her low vocal range.

Josh - Josh is Josh, he's NOT going to change for Supernova so if they don't like his SOUL they need to let him go home soon.

Ryan - he was good playing the piano - there is just something about his vocals that I don't like, not sure what though

Magni - I guess he did ok, I just don't like him with Supernova. Nice of the guys to pay for his wife and baby to come and visit him...awwwwwwwww!

Lukas - Loved the red jacket!! If he does make the bottom three due to his performance last night, at least we get to hear him sing again tonight. Supernova will NOT let him go after one bad performance, no way, no how!!

Storm - I liked this Storm better then the crazy eyed Storm last week. Is she right for Supernova??? I'm not sure yet.

Joining in on this thread. I've been watching this Rockstar since the beginning and I'm just starting to get into the show. My favorites are Dilana, Storm and Toby. I actually hope they send home Jill tonight, only because I think Zayra is a hoot to watch. I also think it will have to be a female since they've already sent home three guys.

I loved last year's Rockstar/Inxs and I'm actually going to see MiG perform tonight in Boston, he's playing a small jazz club. Marty and MiG are performing tomorrow night in Boston also.

Did they send Dana home? We're having some bad weather here so they interrupted the show twice for several minutes each time, the second time was long enough that we didn't see the band send anyone home. It came back as Jill and Patrice were talking at the very end, so I'm assuming they sent Dana home. I was hoping Patrice would go...well, really Zayra should have gone, dang it!

I'm not too upset about Dana leaving. I would like to see Jill stick around just a little while because I love her voice (except when she did Simple Minds). Patrice -- eh. I've said all along that I think she's forgettable.

I did think Jill sang "Alone" really well, and thought it was neat she got a standing ovation from the guys. If she would have sang that one last night, she probably wouldn't have been in the bottom three.

I agree she's totally forgettable. I still wonder if her tats are real because her personality just doesn't seem to match...maybe that's the problem, she's not showing enough personality.

I want to know just who is voting for Zayra???

Jill redeemed herself tonight and I like the dark hair extensions - it makes her look less like a pint-size barbie.

Agreed. I hated how SN & The Rockers always made comments about Dana's age. Diliana was always kinda of "here let me help but I will cut you down at the same time" I think Dana grew the most & Lukas is reverting-he takes no ones advice & does not seem put as much effort into as the others-but hey it worked for JD. And I think Zayra as weird as she is has a better voice than Jill, I would like to hear her really nail one.
