***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

Did anyone have their heart skip a beat tonight?
When Brooke said Toby's name I shrieked, woke the cats, and startled my DH. :scared1: Having spent most of the day reading spoilers on another site, I was pretty confident once Dana sang that Toby was safe (one spoiler said that ONE of the bottom 3 skipped practice). So during the commercial, I had it all worked out in my mind and was starting to relax a little. Then Brooke said "Toby...." Good LORD! I nearly died. But thankfully, Toby is safe and will rock on for another week (or more!!)

I've got plenty more where that came from. Over the course of the last couple of weeks, I've found more than 80 (yes that's EIGHTY) hot Toby pics and I, of course, saved them all.

I think he looks like Val Kilmer in this picture.

Just my opinion, but Zayra should have gone home weeks ago!!! While I don't think Dana should have won, she went home prematurely! Is it just me, or would Josh fit in with a boy band much better than Supernova? I like Delana and Storm.

I'm still in shock over last night.
How in the hell was Lukas and Zayra not in the bottom 3? :confused3
and Jill did sing Alone well but there were parts she really over sang imho. I thought Dana was much better. Patrice really should have been the one going home. She really is forgetable on stage and the song she sang last night was so similar to the ones she's done before.

I don't think Dana is right for Supernova but she's immensely talented and deserved to stick around a bit longer

Zayra is just kept around for the entertainment value! The band was so stymied by her performance they needed extra time! I think they know she does not fit but like to watch what she will come up with next! She has problems with pronouncing the words (probably due to the language). I would have kept Dana around a while longer, since she is not as bad as some of them and she does improve each week. And Although I am not a Jill fan Gilby really rakes her over the coals sometimes, I wonder how she stands there without crying, There are few guys out there that would shun her bump and grind routine and he just came off sounding so righteous. I almost thought they were going to send Patrice and Dana home last night. And has anyone else noticed how Lukas is not happy or shows any emotions when the others put in a good performance, he just seems like a self centered know it all IMO.

Have a good time seeing MIG tonight - will want details tomorrow.

I hope you're ready for a very long post. :thumbsup2

Hello everyone!

Where to start, where to start.... We got to the club shortly after 7:00pm, we did take the world tour of Boston since we got lost for a while. When we went in the place still had plenty of tables empty. They first sat us at about the mid point, which wasn't bad, but they definately would have better seats that would be opening up. I could see a table pretty close to the front that were getting their bill, so I set my sights on that one.
I asked the waiter if we could move to it once the people left and he said sure. The employees of Bob's were very nice to us by the way. While we were waiting for the table, first I saw Darryl come in, who I later met, very, very talented musician. Then following right behind him was MiG. I couldn't believe I was seeing him in such a small place, it was so surreal. He just walked in as if he was going to have dinner there like everyone else. I then noticed members of MiG's fan club talking to him, so when they sat back down at their table, I got up to talk to them. They were very nice and offered us chairs at their table, but we had food coming so in order not to be in the way we ate at our table. About ten minutes later I saw Leeann and Donna (fan club members) again talking to MiG at the bar area, so I asked my husband should I go over and talk to him? I was so nervous and my husband said you should, so I got up the nerve and went over and introduced myself and said something lame like I loved you on Rockstar. Leeann then asked if I had a camera, which I did, so my husband took a picture of us together and it actually came out good for a change. I went and sat back down after talking with him for a minute or so, shortly later MiG started his first set.

The first set was great. It was just MiG and Darryl at that point. He sounded wonderful. I can't remember all the songs, but I know he did "Wake me up when September ends" and it was awesome, so much better than the original. They played for around a half hour and then went back and sat with Donna, Leeann and Claire. Claire then was motioning me to come and talk to him, so we did and they made room for us at the table. We could have asked him anything, he was so open. I asked questions about the show, told him I loved the scene when Simi visits, we asked about who he liked on the show and he basically mentioned every name. My husband asked if it was hard being a musician trying to make it in the states and he told us all about how it works and how he thought after Rockstar there would just be offers flowing in because the producers lead him to believe that would be the case, but he really had to make his own way after the show. We talked to him for an hour as if he was someone we had known forever, watched while he ate his salad, how crazy this all was. He just is so nice! He told us how he and Darryl rented a van in Chicago and drove it to Philadelphia and then to Boston, they must have been so tired.

He went on the do his second set around 10:15pm. He only got to do a few songs, when the manager went to talk to him, this particular bar becomes a rapping poetry session every night around 10:00pm so they started integrating the poets in since probably 95% of the cliental had come in to see the rapping poets. It was too bad because the place had really picked up by then. The poets performed for probably 20 minutes, then MiG got to sing again, I think it was a couple of songs, then the poets got back on stage. By this time it was 11:00pm and my husband likes to get to work at the crack of dawn so we called it a night. MiG was crouched down by one of the exits listening to the poet, so I said let's go out this way so we can say goodbye. He immediately stood up and thanked me for coming and gave me a hug and I kissed him on the cheek. Wow, I'm thinking did all this just happen? It was an amazing night, I couldn't believe the access we had and I hope to see him again at the Hardrock on Friday night.

I hope this wasn't too long, if I become computer literate, I'll post the picture I have of us. ;)

Last year on INXS I could not stand JD - he was just a jerk for the first several episodes. It wasn't until close to the end where he actually seemed a little more human. Lukas will probably win the thing...but I think there are at least 4 others that I'd rather go see (Dilana, Magni, Toby, Storm).

I wish Jill would have gone home last night...Dana may be too young/naive for the band but at least the girl can sing and perform. I just keep thinking of Jill's Courtney Love performance with the wedding gown :sad2: What was she thinking :confused3

emmabelle that is so cool. It's really too bad that he didn't end up with a big contract after last year. He has a great voice.

Emmabelle, I'm so excited for you! That must have been such a great experience. How did you find out that MiG would be there anyway?

I'm sad for him, though. For as talented as he is, he should be playing much larger venues.

Yes Dana can sing but I don't think she can perform in a rockstar sort of way. Everything she does looks fake and very forced, her tough girl look just doesn't cut it. I think it looks more goth. That tattoo couldn't have been real. That tattoo looked healed and as if it had been there for weeks.

I don't think they should have kept her just because she could sing. Of the three last night, they made the right choice.

Dana was just such a kid. She has a good voice, but the things she said - I just chugged a beer! I'm gettin' a tattoo! - just made her sound so young and naive. She was never going to be the winner, and neither will Jill, Patrice, Josh, or Zayra. Despite Ryan's LMR performance, I don't think he will make it either. Three weeks ago, I thought Toby was a front-runner, but he seems to lack passion.
And to all the Zayra bashers, I thought what Z did with her song on performance night was genious, too bad she cannot sing. Her arrangement was in the vein of old school punk, and to be fair, lots of punk bands were led by peeps who couldn't really sing very well. I thought she was awful for the most part before Tuesday night, but I really liked it.
Since next week's competition involves songwriting, I have no predictions at all on who will shine, but I have read that Dilana is a cover artist, so maybe she will falter. I thought last year the songwriting competition was much later in the competition (JD's Pretty Vegas and Marty's Trees are all that stand out to me, but I recall Jordis, Mig and Suzie all wrote songs too, right?)

Mushy, Mushy

He has a website called teammigayesa.com which has all his appearances listed. He actually is playing at other venues that are bigger, thankfully. He's playing with Marty and the Loverhammers tonight, which would be cool to see, but I have to work. We are going to see him again at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston tomorrow night. Just amazing other than having to buy some food and drinks, admitance has been free. Yay! :thumbsup2

Okay I'll brace for impact on this-
I know she won't win - but - I realy dig Zayra.
She's got somthing so engaging about her.

Frankly I think Dilana is the best singer on the show
and probably is too good for Supernova.

But all is moot - they'll never pick a woman.

WONDERFUL REVIEW!!! Sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time. I liked MIG last year and thought for awhile that he would win the thing.

I've been saying since the beginning of the show that Dana has a great voice but she is just too YOUNG to front Supernova and I guess the band felt the same way.

Although I think Jill or Z should of gone before Dana.

The only thing about Dilana that bugs me is her voice range - she has a very low register and I haven't heard anything else from her YET.........kind of like Lukas........I know what Lukas can do and he hasn't shown even 1/2 of what he has YET.

This next week should be really good - letting them INDIVIDUALLY put the melody and lyrics to one of Supernova' songs will show who's above the others.

Completely agree again. I would recommend they stay away from Heart if they can't pull it off. Jill lost it everytime the powerful parts came and she ended of screaching instead of eveything that makes Ann one of the best vocalists out there.

She's too young and really probably isn't cut out to be the kind of rockstar they want to see. But IMHO I'd rather watch her than Jill or Patrice. I can't stand Zayra either - but that's like a train wreck - you just have to watch to see how bad it's going to be.
