Rock 'n Roller Coaster may not be featuring Aerosmith

I just would like to say again that this is an old romor that started a few years ago. Disney never considered Hannah ever.

Agreed. Can a moderator close this thread so it dies its death? Aerosmith is TOURING THIS YEAR! They aren't even breaking up which would have made a change far more likely. As cheap as Disney has been lately on many things do you REALLY think they would spend the money on shooting a new film and changing the marquee.

Yea it is ridiculos. The closest thing that ever happened was when they were going to bring RnRC to DL it was going to feature No Doubt.

Where does this information come from?

Based on anything and everything Disney has done over the past 10 years I believe Hannah and Jonas have been discussed somewhere, sometime at Disney. This is a no brainer.

Of course it will never be done, it wouldn't be good business, but I will never believe that it hasn't been proposed and discussed.

I am telling you DIsney never considered changing the ride. This is an Internet rumor that has no truth to it.

The two you mentioned are not even what started the rumor. Again when RnRC was going to be brought to DL it would have featured No Doubt. After that hit the web the rumor mills started saying the No Doubt was replacing Aerosmith in WDW. Then the rumor evoved over the last three years to include Hannah and the Chastity boys.

I would agree with an established group that has been around and can keep the rock and roll them like Bon Jovi. The Jonas brothers could easily go the way of Hanson (remember them) 3 years from now and then what will you do?

Three years from now it will still bge Aerosmith, just like it will be in 10 years.

Yes, well the past 10 years didnt see Stephen Tyler getting booted from Aerosmith because of his drug binges.

I love Aerosmith, but from a values and branding standpoint they have possibly become a liability to Disney. Not that I think Hannah Montana or the Jonas Bros should go into the attraction, but there are plenty of viable classic rock alternatives who are still popular today.

Heck, last weekend on my way through I saw they had a poster for Queen up, although that could have just been because of Gaydays.

Thats funny I didn't know he got booted from the band seeing that they are currently on tour.

Again this was never considered.

At some point Aerosmith won't mean much to anybody under 50, and just the way E.T and Back to the Future rides at US were replaced for newer movie rides, it just makes sense that the theming of this ride will change. It would be nice to have it change to another popular musical act. I'd like to see a few rides and attractions that aren't attached to a Disney character, isn't there enough of that already?

Eventually yes, this is likely to happen. However, trying to find a musical act with the right musical theme for a thrill ride AND the broad, multi-generational appeal is a challenge. There are many threads devoted to that discussion already though.

True, but then again Disney OWNS those characters (for the most part). When it is someone else, then there are contractual issues (as was the genesis of the RNRC change rumors)...

Huh?

ConcKahuna wrote that Stephen Tyler didn't get booted from Aerosmith.

I read the post as meaning that in the previous ten years he hadn't had problems, but now he does, and implied he was kicked out of the band because of it. He hasn't though...

Of course, they were all notorious in their earlier years for their "transgressions"...

The other band members staged an intervention and Tyler had to do 90 days in rehab. They even auditioned new lead singers in case he hadn't cleaned up his act before this summer's tour started.

any comparison between Hanson and the Jonas Bros is silly. they make as much money in a month as Hanson did in their whole run.

I hope it stays the same:guilty:

RnRC was closed for about a week in May, and nothing changed. We were at WDW from June 4- 19. When we got there the guitar was covered with a tarp. By the end of the trip the tarp was gone, the guitar is all shiny and spiffy and freshly painted, and everything still says AEROSMITH. I am pretty sure the rumor has no merit.

Carry on.

I searched this thread out after watching "Walt Disney World" on the travel channel a few minutes ago. I didn't know of the rumor, but I quickly picked up on how the WORD "Aerosmith" was NOT used, and how it seemed it was PURPOSEFULLY not used. I also noticed (as a person studying photography) that they angled the shots so as to NOT show Aerosmith on the signage. The people commenting on how great the ride is also referred to it as "Rockin Roller Coaster" which I found as odd; we always just called it "Aerosmith".
IE "We're gonna go ride the Aerosmith"

Now, I'd like to mention here that you people are clearly showing your age.:happytv::lmao::rotfl2:

Red Hot Chili Peppers???
Van Halen?:scared1:
Bon Jovi??????:sad2:

Come on, surely you can come up with something better.:rolleyes1
I'm not a Beetles fan, but I can kinda see that one. Metallica? Maybe. But lets bury the Southern rock idea.

How about something that crosses 2 genres at once to appeal to a larger audience??? Maybe something like Linkin Park? It certainly has the beat and momentum, and it appeals to more people. Or maybe Demi Lavado or Avril Lavinge? Both have a few upbeat songs and both are known for their roles on film.

The Muppet idea is cool! Or maybe just a "Disney Created" ride with a soundtrack made just for the ride! Who said it has to "feature" ANYONE???

Disney has made some AWESOME music. They aren't exactly known for hard hitting fast paced music, but i'm sure they could come up with something.

You are probably unique there. Most people around here refer to it as "Rock'n'Roller Coaster", or simply RNRC.

That show was originally made in 2002, with some minor updates to include newer things. Reading something in to them not using the Aerosmith name is probably a bit much.

We collect Disney planning DVDs, and we always watch the Travel Channel shows about Disney. We have seen many many times the references to the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster. I have never seen it put quite like that before. I don't think it was a bit much at all. And in my 19 trips in counting, I've heard quite a few people call it Aerosmith Coaster or such. I've heard it called all kinds of crazy names actually. :surfweb:

Officially its Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, as for the travel channel show not showing the Aerosmith name it may have been deliberate.

Rights issues can be strange, like they can't use the name in TV shows. :confused3

Remember Robin Williams left the Aladdin movies because Disney used his voice to promote toys in Burger King kids meals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_williams#Disputes_with_Disney

Maybe the producer of the show just doesn't like Aerosmith? :confused3 :goodvibes
