My sister and I are loading four kids in a mini-van on Friday (the 20th) and heading for Orlando from Muskegon, MI We're driving straight through. Any last-minute advice from those who've gone on before?

We've rented a house in Kissimmee and will be spending Monday - Thursday (23 - 26) at WDW. Can't wait!

Have fun! Its a long drive! Which way are you way are going going?

Kentucky and Tennessee are kind of boring, not a lot to look at really. And Georgia seems to go on FOREVER!!! I thought we were never going to get through Georgia! When we drove down in 2005 we left from the Detroit area and went through Ohio-West Virginia-Virginia-the Carolinas-Georgia-Florida. We came home on I-75, Florida-Georgia-Tennessee-Kentucky-Ohio-Michigan. I liked the way there better than the way back. My parents drove us to Florida several times when I was younger and we always took 75 down.

Make sure you bring stuff for the kids to do. Games are always fun to play, especially the liscense plate game.

Wow, we leave from Battle Creek on Friday. I have a bag of toys/coloring stuff for each child, can not wait for friday to get here.

West Michigan here...

We drove down I-65 through Alabama in August and returned on I-75 through Georgia.

I highly recommend driving through Alabama as there is much less traffic, including truck traffic, and much less construction. It takes approximately 45 longer to go via Alabama, but it really is a much nicer drive.

This time of the year you are going to see lots of snowbirds with motor homes and trailers heading south for the winter on I-65.

Do you have a DVD player, if not they are a godsend for the kids.

I never thought much about going down through Alabama then over. I65 has a ton of semi traffic and they go 80 mph. When we go down from WI my husband goes down IL and the speed limit for semi's and trailers is 55 mph. It drives me crazy.

Personally I would stay on I75.
