Savings if you can get a standard view at BW, but those are pretty much impossible unless you have it as a home resort and are difficult even then. Non-standard view at BWV is more points than a tower studio.
I do like BWV as a resort, but for a non-BWV member, tower studio will likely be easier to book, especially once Riviera resort is closer to fully declared.
Looks like tower studios range from 9-28 points a night and BWV studios from 9-29 points a night.
Tower studios are 256 square feet and there appear to be 24 of them.
BWV are 359 square feet and there appear to be 246 of them.
If you are booking either with home resort points or with other resort points I think your odds are much better and the points are almost the same at BW than at RIV. I think RIV rooms are gorgeous, I think BW location is better. YMMV.
My thing is this: I’m not going to WDW to spend my day in my room! I may spend it out on the resort and I know I’m going to the parks. I just need that room to be comfortable enough for me to charge my batteries. I still love staying at deluxe resorts even if I’m not in my room. I’ve never stayed at BWV, but there are a lot of great restaurants, activities, and vibes at RIV that I enjoyed when I went. I want to be out in that environment and not on a couch or bed. I’ll do that when I get home.

They are not though because so few of the BW studios are standard views and they get snapped up by the owners. Studios at 7mos will almost certainly be pool or boardwalk view, which run 102-198 points per week, whereas tower studios run 71-176 points per week.
Ok, I watched it, but now I am really curious if there is some secret way to get the bed down without pulling it down. I cannot se someone needing an accessible room being able to pull that bed down.
Honestly seeing that video makes me hesitant to book a Tower as I would be bummed (ok, more than bummed) if I got that tub rather than the AMAZING shower in the others I’ve seen and the one they seem to use as a model.

The funny thing is on the Tower studio is 256 sq ft, it feels like 40% of that is the bathroom. Room is way to small for what it costs. They are nice, but I would rather have more room in a regular studio. Some people love them and that’s great.

I was thinking that too-we stayed a BWV studio with 4, no problem, and I was astonished to realize they were only 100 sq ft more than the tower studio.
No, it is almost impossible to get a SV @ BWV at the 7month mark. We own at AKV and have difficulty getting value studios there but the standard views @ Jambo are good in that several have a partial SV. We have stayed at Jambo many time and are looking forward to staying at RR.

True (and yay for AKV-we just stayed in a value 2 bedroom a couple weeks ago and it was great-esp at 28 points). But the highest point BWV studios are about the same at tower studios, depending on time of year, so you don’t have to just do standard view to have a competitive point cost.

Since we only have 125 points, I have to be very crafty if I want to stay 10 or more nights. I want to buy more points but we have started a remodeling project so it may be a couple of years. Since Covid made us cancel our 2br @ Copper Creek that we had 2019 and 2020 points invested, we got to use up those points in September, October, NOvember, and December 2020. We stayed at Copper Creek, Boardwalk Villas, and the Polynesian-we even got one of the alternate studios at Copper Creek. It was sort of like a mini 1br but no stove or full size fridge. In March of this year, we booked 2 value studios at Jambo for 5 nights. I took the skyliner by myself one day because I am afraid of heights. To my horror, we stopped probably 4 times and one time it was for 10 minutes but seemed like hours. I rode it two more times because that is how I beat my fears. I will still tell my husband to be very still because I don't like the rocking of the pod. One day it was so windy and I said why in the world are they still running this thing? I am walking back-I didn't but I was scared lol.
We toured it and decided it wouldn't work for us. We are unpackers and the space to store clothes is pretty limited - the only drawers are like nightstand drawers. That said, we may use it for a late arrival one night stay and transfer to a larger room after. May save some points?
